It's been fun

Just wanted to say it's been fun, guys.

I just submitted what will likely be my last census. After 7.5 years, my WoW subscription will not renew tomorrow morning. I wish you all the best of luck in the future.

You're correct in your interpretation, but unfortunately the data suffers from a lack of input. The system has seen more alliance characters, but the alliance side is also censused much more regularly than the horde side. 76 updates in the last 30 days for alliance, but only 3 for horde. Horde activ...

Yeah, I think the site here was up for a few hours before I started uploading, so perhaps it was one of those "auto-upload on logout" people that beat me to it. Pretty disappointed.

It's still really weird that someone managed to catch me, but not that other guy who is incremented.

No 85-90 increment on my main, couple others

So with all my uploaded data now processed, I went back to see how it looked. For some reason the increments of my main's 85-90 journey are not registered, nor are they for a couple others I know who hit 90 in the first few days. I was copying files out every few hours to try to increment the people...

I think there's just a backlog building. I had an upload at 0039 11/25 (Sunday morning) that only processed very early (04-0500) this morning. As of this writing, I suspect your first upload (from Saturday night) has likely processed by now. You can always check the server status here: http://www.wa...

103 files uploaded, and I'm up to date. I wonder if the server is creaking under the strain yet.

If I haven't seen something substantive by the 25th, which will be two full months since the xpac released, I'm done. I might keep running the addon for my own uses (which are few), but I'm done checking in every few days to see if anything's happened here. If it's not a priority for him, I don't se...

So what you're saying is, assuming the person knows how to read code, it would still take them longer 7 weeks (and counting) since the release of the new xpac to figure out how to update it? I seriously doubt that. I only have a rudimentary understanding of coding, but I bet I could figure it out in...

others have simply fallen silent because there is nothing more for them to say. This is it. I currently have 91 census files to upload, 92 by the end of raid tonight. That's 24.5 hours of uploading, if I do one every 16 minutes. And then it'll probably take a month or more before those, and everyon...

Because LOTS of people are interested in the past. It's mitigated somewhat by all the faction/server/name changes people are able to easily do versus 2-3 years ago, but for long-term server residents, guild history is something they look at when taking applications. I think your setting of auto-prun...

I totally think the site should be shut down. Lots of people don't read these forums, and you're never going to stop them all from uploading.

Yeah, if you're here, you're clearly concerned about the data, so why would you intentionally waste a solid chunk of new (and important) data?

Um, so... have I been doing this wrong? Instead of moving the file out and starting with a fresh one each time, I've been simply copying the SV file out, and letting Windows rename it (1), (2), etc, as I go. So my file is cumulative larger over the period. Assuming I upload them in the correct chron...

Thanks bunches. Do I have to wait 30 minutes or so between uploads in order for them to not to overwrite the previous upload?

How does one "stockpile?" Just move the census file out to a separate location and let it build a new one? How do you then upload it? Move it back in, and upload, and then replace it and wait 30+ minutes to do the next one so they don't overlap?

I'm seeing this as well when uploading through the submissions page. UniUploader is not returning an error, however. My upload through UU is showing on my page, I'm waiting to see if it processes.
