Unfortunately, the /guildinfo command is bugged since the guild list is broken after 500 members. A /guildinfo on my guild says 500 chars, 382 accounts, which it's been stuck at for about 6-7 months now, regardless of how many accounts we add or lose. For instance, the guild list may say 47 online members, when a couple /who commands when added reveal 80 members online. A few months ago our GM sent in a petition about it... blizzard told us it's a bug and it's not scheduled to be fixed any time soon. So, we just have to guess

Guild relations can vary greatly from game to game and suffer greatly mainly because of a few individual ego's. I was in a guild in another game before WoW and the rivalry between different guilds supposedly working on the same side was intense. It was a FFA atmosphere and instead of battling the 'bad guys' these guilds ended up fighting each other. It took alot of work on my part to try and get these guys to all work together in order for us to have more fun in certain aspects of the game. Yes, in the end we did manage to at least not kill each other on sight but the work put into it was not worth it. I would not do that again. It is just a game and too many people took it way too serious. Some of those same people all ended up on the same server with us in WoW and even though it has been almover a year since beta and even longer back to our previous game, these people do not get along. They are members of smaller guilds that compliment each other very well and would have achieved so much more working together. Instead they avoid contact with others and don't really progress much in game.
At one time, we were close to 500 members, but have trimmed it down (mostly by my own hand) considerably due to players that don't log on for a month or more & players leaving for other guilds due to impatience with the progress of our guild.

Yeah, every month the GM goes through our guild list and purges people who haven't been on for a month or so, unless they've posted in our guild forums "on vacation" section letting us know. We somehow still manage to stay over 500 accounts, even with cutting close to 25-35 characters every month. New members of the guild often are surprised that they're not on the guild list in-game, even when they're online... so we have to explain the broken guild list bug pretty often
