First Census goal 10,000+

Post by Marvin_of_Mars »

I finally reached my first censusing goal of 10,000!

Questions to all the census pros, what are some of the best ways to increase your census numbers?

Nevermind about the question at the end. I just saw the Sticky about being a top contributor. Thanks!

Grats :)

Best way is census more than one server, and do so a lot - I have census alts on a lot of servers, all of which I've taken from the "most wanted" list - most aren't there any more but are still red, so I've kept running them. When I'm really getting a lot of updates, I'm running it for several hours a day, generally have it running in the background and tab out to whatever else I'm doing.

Only trouble is I can't be logged in twice so can't census while I'm actually playing the game (well I can but only my main server, which is green), so my update numbers go down if I'm playing a lot ;)

Yeah, like Balgair said, the best way is just to create census alts on realms with the least submissions. If I'm working on something else on my computer than I'll usually just have the census running in the backround and switch servers whenever the census is up. My problem is I'm playing too often to census a lot of other servers as of late... :P

Grats on 10k submissions, it's a good milestone :)

I just reached 10,000 today.

All but 600 of my updates were within the last 4 days. If you poll 4 servers at a time, and they all have less than 50 updates in the last month, it's not hard to reach 10,000 at all!

Thanks for the good advice. You were definately right about making characters on the most wanted list and using them as census toons to bump up your numbers. I've found that it doesn't take much "census grinding" at all if you follow your lead.

Thanks again.

easy math, get a system down for how to do your censuses and you increase the values a lot. take notes on what servers give a lot and so on. make sure not to double census same server again in short time.

its a cake. only been here since start of month about myself and over 200K atm

Meh, I'm in the top 20 for both categories and I have only done updates for Mug'thol and Burning Blade (where i used to be before transfer), though I have been doing it for over a year now.

Well, it's a good thing you don't query burning blade alliance anymore. That's now my cashcow for undiscovered characters!
