Anime Flood!
Does anyone else think Japanese animation is played out? Everywhere I look on TV, I see all these shows from Japan that look identical. I am so sick of these cartoons.

Yeah, I agree, Japanese animation has been around a long time and it always looks the same. I have started to check out some of the US shows that take the style and make it different. Batman Beyond was like that, and so is the new TMNT cartoon. Right now, there is a really cool cartoon called Storm Hawks that looks a little like anime, but is definitely different.kick_me_softly wrote:Does anyone else think Japanese animation is played out? I saw Storm Hawks and it reminded me a little of the style that I liked from Teen Titans, but it was edgier.

For the record, all anime definitely doesn't look the same. Not even close.
They have the same basic style, but the drawing even from anime to anime can vary quite a bit. Of course you can still choose to not like any of it, since that's up to you... but there's definitely an entire catalog of anime that covers pretty much every genre. To lump it all together just doesn't make sense.

Like I said, it's up to personal preference. For instance Storm Hawks is a fun show (I like it myself) but many people prefer the traditional drawn anime as compared to more computer animated fare. I go much more for content than animation style myself, and even that varies a ton. To each his (or her) own, I say
