armor data for 70s only: wowmetrics.com

Post by uigrad »

I found a very, very cool site for comparing yourself to other 70s on your server:

http://wowmetrics.com/

So far, they just have mages, warlocks, warriors, and rogues. You can sort all the warlocks on a server by damage, shadow damage, fire damage, etc.

From the FAQ, it isn't clear how they get the list of 70s. My guess is that they have done a /who 70 on each server a couple of times, and then queried those guilds through armory.

hmm, interesting info. If they do gather the information that way, it would definitely take awhile to cover everyone and look up their gear, heh.

Actually their info is voluntarily submitted. You enter your name/server and they will pull your info from the Armory.

It's not really a census, more about stats comparisons.

Even though you can definately submit info voluntarily, all the warlocks that I know from my server were listed in the top 100. Here's the wowmetrics data for my server (silvermoon):

total characters (lv 70): 1097
Alliance 711 64.81%
Horde 386 35.19%

from warcraftrealms, I get:
Total Characters (lv 70): 5,264 (2625 = war + rogue + mage + lock)
Total Alliance: 3,242 - 62%
Total Horde: 2,022 - 38%

And, of course, warcraftrealms has a lot of different ways to split out stats. There's no question that warcraftrealms is a better census site :)

I just found it interesting, and was wondering if anyone had more information about how they got their data.

Their data was first scanned by using the guild name. If your not in a guild you weren't listed. Which is why I wasn't listed when I was guildless, I had to add myself manually in there.

That site is not designed to be a Census site like Warcraftrealms is. Its just a tool to compare your gear to others.
