Alright, lets start at the start. I have two accounts, one has a 70 warr that was alch/engineering (for pvp) and I have Lapriest who's Tailor/Ench and Hyb (lvl 61) that's 31/75 herb, and nothing else

(I'm a slacker).

I saved up some gold and had the 70 warrior go transmute spec alchemy, and boy was it worth it. I end up giving 5g or free xmutes and it procs every time. It's been only about a week. First time it was 2 total primal mights, 2nd time it was 2, 3rd time it was 4!!!! alas, yesterday it was just 2. But boy is it helpful! Easy money.

My issue is with my warrior Hyb. A lowbie and undergeared. I'm thinking about taking him back to old world and have him be herb/alch. It'd be easy to slack off and just have him gather herbs (or buy them at the lower lvls) and level it up. It'd be easy to siphon the extra funds from the primal might transmutes to make him one of those toons that you see just in org running from the bank to the mailbox to the AH. sounds good?

Do you guys think that taking lapriest through all the lowbie instances is a good plan? Hell, I'd be willing to have her as a herbalist (since she can actually defend herself in the Outlands.

I manage to just stay with an even keel with my chars. I'll build up a little, then get some new gear that needs enchants/gems and I'm right back where I started.

Can't really give any input on good way to get the golds =)

Lucky bugger! I have had only 4 x2 procs in my first month of transmuting, and only 1 was with mights. I didn't have enough mats to make a might when the others proc'd...

I have several characters and most professions represented.

So far, I find my best source of income comes from using several professions together. Mining gives me ore/bars to sell and prospect on my jeweler, as well as earth and fire motes towards transmute mats. My alchemist makes decent money selling potions, and I send mights to my leather worker to make riding crops. My enchanter provides mats to the LW for the riding crop as well. I have become pretty self sufficient with most items - it just takes lots of grinding to keep up with all the mats. I made 2k in less than a week selling potions and riding crops on the AH and probably have another 2k in mats and gems that I could sell if I wanted to.

I just picked up my first Epic flyer this week and it speeds up my herbing and quest potential quite a bit.

I think you'll have better income potential if your herbalist is 70 so you can get some of the herbs needed for flasks. If you also make him a miner, you will get motes in outlands and you can sell the ore/bars, some of which can bring in a good bit of money.

If you like to stand around, perhaps fishing is the way to go. It takes more of a time commitment, but you can still make money selling high end food. And eventually, you might get the rare Mr. Pinchy! I actually got him a couple weeks ago even though I thought my skill had to be higher. My first wish gave me 500 health for 2 hours. I'm waiting until we do an instance before I use him again in case I get another good wish.

Hard to say where to get money as while I get a fair amount of cash, not much comes from professions! The most profit I make from profs is my enchanter, who watches the AH for cheap greens, DEs them and sells the dust/essences for a tidy profit (2.5k or so since about a month or so after TBC came out) Beyond that, LW/skinning is a dead loss for money, nothing I can make sells for more than the mats are worth and leather isn't worth all that much. Tailoring is great money if you have one of the epic recipes (and access to nethers) but I don't, so it's just a source of bags currently (plus lets me wear imba healing gear so it's worth it for that

).

Jewelcrafting has cost me a fortune, probably over 5k in recipes etc, and doesn't make a lot on its own; currently I'm making 15-20g here and there by buying cheap raw gems, cutting them and selling the results but it's not big. However I've just skilled a miner up and reckon I'll probably make quite a bit if I get down to farming ores to prospect, as that'll be a much better source of gems than having to buy them!

Alch seems to have the most potential for earning, and I do make some money on flasks and potions, but that's by having a lvl 70 herbalist collecting the herbs. Transmutes are a waste of time for me; I'm too low level to get the spec (and even if I was high enough I'd go elixir spec as I make them a lot more often) and the mights sell for less than the primals are worth on my server, plus from all I hear it doesn't proc all that often - sounds like you've been very very lucky so far

Mining is crowded, unless you stick to the old world like I do. Thorium is going for a pretty good price. But mining is no longer as good as it once was, unless you farm off hours when the rest of the miners sleep.

Enchanting seems to be where it's at. I have been a fan of enchanting/disenchanting for a long time and it made me tons of money while I had it at 300. But I got bored, as I normally do, and swapped enchanting for Blacksmithing/Mining

I've been meaning to lvl up my enchanting just waiting for some monies to buy the reagents or run lowbie instances just for disenchanting :-s.. I'd prefer buying the reagents. Disenchanting is good. I just farm save the greens, send em to a guildie and he send it back... Easy speazy. As far as tailoring goes... if you're not going to sell your cooldown, not much is worth selling... 18 slot bags go for a minimal profit, so if you're not selling blue/purpz boe's it's worthless :-s (although pimpin the 18's is pretty badass)

You may want to keep an eye on the Auction House on your server for a bit and see what is in demand.

I rarely have trouble selling potions, but nobody wants to buy enchants on my server, they all have guildies to do it. There are usually always plenty of enchanting mats up in the AH as well, so I don't bother trying to sell much of them. I use most of mine enchanting my own characters and providing the mats for my tailor and leather worker.

I don't have much trouble finding ore veins when I bring my miner out, but the profit on selling isn't as large as I can make with potions - I have an Epic flyer for my Herbalist and he can pick herbs probably at least 3 times faster than before.

that's what im thinking... I get disenchants from guildies and such, so if I picked up herb on my main, while im grinding/questing I can pick up all sorts of herbs and level it quickly. Plus my main would be the first to get an epic flyer anyways

On Mal'Ganis enchanting mats usually sell pretty well - I make way more money on my pally with mining/enchanting as my professions than I do on my hunter with skinning/LW.
