Seems Familiar
I agree that the new expansion will likely be pretty amazing. However, former SWG players will know where I am going with this, doesnt this seem a little familiar? I think death knights will be an interesting addition to the game. I mean, its like grinding to Jedi in SWG. The thing I fear with it is will it be like how it was in SWG? Once you open something like this up, there will be thousands of these death knights running around. All you will see is death knights. Why wouldnt there be? You create a "super" class that is more powerfull than the other "regular"classes, why would want to play a mage or a warrior when you have a uber powerfull death knight. IMO, Blizzard should create limited unlockable "Hero" ability slots to existing characters that allow them to learn abilities. For example, a rogue could unlock a slot that would allow him/her to call to the power of the shadows and rez himself/herself (with a hour cooldown and a costly reagent or something like that). Another thing is I am not sure why new continents are being created. There is a ton of unfinished areas and areas that are finished but just not used in Azeroth that could be utilized. There is Uldum, landing strip, areas in the plaqulands. If Blizzard completes these areas, maybe the flying mounts could actually be used in Azeroth. Blizzard should also add more content for people who cannot spend 5 hours a day raiding karazhan or spend an hour looking for a group for an instance. They should introduce things like 2 or 3 man instances for the players who cannot devote their live to raiding but still allow them to get epics and such, even if they do not compare to tier 4 or tier 5. IMO, that would be a little more interesting destructable buildings from the 2nd exp. I dont know. Seems that Blizzard only rewards heavy PVP and raiding.
You don't seem to realize that DKs will NOT be the only hero class. -_- There will be (speculation ahead) archmagi and archdruids, demon hunters and necromancers, witch doctors and far seers, and each will appeal to a different set of people. Jedi are incomparable: they were unmistakably top of the chain in SW; anyone with a background in SW knows this, and thus everyone wanted to be one. DKs are not. Yes, there are similarities, but also remember that hero classes have long been asked for; they were even mentioned on the original game box.
In short, DKs are only the first of many. Be patient, young Padawan.
As for new areas, the old undeveloped areas just haven't been developed yet. Northrend is a much more crucial part of lore when compared to Undermine, or Uldum, or a whole slew of other areas.
As for new types of content, Blizzard is working on it. There's a <a href="http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board ... uggestions forum for these types of things. I implore you to use it.

DAoC did that....once you had a level 50 any alts started at 30.....but the problem it creates is FARMERS can keep leveling chars twice as fast, and the next thing you know you have 5 million level 70's for sale on Ebay.Rollie wrote:IMHO they should just allow you to always create a lvl 40 - 50 character whenever you reroll once you have a char at max level.
That's just me though =)

But with paid char transfers all you have to do is go out, and buy another WoW game for 20 bucks, and transfer any chars onto the new account, and sell it. I don't know all the details of it, but the guy who bought my 5 lvl 60 account did that exact thing. Within about 2 hours all my chars were back up for sale being sold individually on ebay.
