Best way to farm gold since BC?

Post by Eyeball-Dragonmaw »

I don't feel like doing professions this time, and I don't do pve instances. Is their anything to grind that gives a pretty good gold per hour ratio with drops/loot?

P.S. I am pretty lazy...

Try blood elves or demons, for Aldor/Scryers rep drops - you'll get tons of cloth, cash drops and reasonable droprate on greens and grey vendor crap as well. Of course finding a farming spot that isn't camped is tricky; most Aldor spots are tough mobs that aren't fast to grind, except Legion Hold which is farmed to heck. Belfs are easier, just pick a manaforge which has mobs that suit your class; I tend to go round the back of Manaforge B'naar; there's a nice spot with geologists and warp engineer types which is far enough away from the quest mobs that I usually have it to myself.

Not that I can be bothered farming gold much; I just farmed there when I needed Scryers rep and cloth for my warlock; moving onto Legion Hold for my cloth now as I have no other Scryers characters while my hunter needs Aldor rep... tbh I'm bored of farming right now so taking a bit of a break but when I get back to it that's my target ;)

Well i can tell you that farming gold for your epic flyer is not an easy task... I did mine in 10 days and I nearly went insane... I killed about 4400 Talbuks in Nagrand and like 500 Clefthoofs, skinned them and sold it on the AH. Also all the trash loot that they dropped added up to alot of gold as well. I had about 1000g when I started and earned 4200g. I had like 20g left over after buying the flyer. But that wasn't going to bother me at all since a couple weeks later Patch 2.1 and the daily Netherwing quests earned me like 2000g from Neutral to Exalted and I loved it.

The Scryers rep farming has got to be one great way to earn gold because the Sunfury Signets that drop can be sold for alot.

Death's Door for Marks of S. Sux th at they're deamons and you can't cannibalize em. then sell them for 2mark:1g on the AH. Easy monies. Or you can quest quest quest. It's easy and stays somewhat interesting.

Just as I got enough money for my epic flying mount, I decided to stop playing my hunter... so I'm glad I didn't buy him an epic flyer haha. I just made the money by leveling alts, but I hate grinding and farming with a passion so I just don't do it. My pally is mining/enchanting, so leveling up I made a ton of money from selling ore + selling the leftover enchanting reagents from dualboxing my way through instances. Plus, I'm basically leveling my druid and pally simultaneously through outland (not dual boxing them since they're on the same account, just trading off to make the most out of rest exp) which is good for making lots of money, haha. Plus, it's double the greens to melt for enchanting reagents to sell... bwahaha.

At least I have enough cash on hand to buy my pally an epic flyer as soon as I hit 70. My druid I don't have to worry about an epic for awhile... at least I'll get flight form cheap :D

PS when did you change your warrior's name, Hyb?

I xferred him over to Aggramar (PvE) a couple of weeks back. Thinking of re-rolling the 3rd Hyb, this time Tauren (1. Orc, 2. UD). Seems like the logical choice, and would probably be the final Hyb. Thanks for noticing. Xpolockx hearts me.

if your a skinner, you can earn gold from those clefthoofs like a fool.
I skilled from 360 to 375 and skinned about 250 Thick Clefthoof Leather which goes about 4-5g a PIECE in our AH (should be the same on other servers). Took me 8 hours...you should watch some movies and series on a 2nd screen ;)

If only you could level skinning up without having to skin lvl 10 mobs. Just make the success rate less, but let you start skinning with any high level mobs. I am sure it would only take a day to level up skinning.

Need to have a flying mount to start doing the dailies - if you can, find a good, rich and trusted friend to loan you the gold for your flyer, and pay them back with your daily quest money. That's what I did. :)

and for the dailies, you have to find 4 guys that do the b$ too... there are some 5man quests before you can start the daily-ogrila :-/

as for skinning: skilling goes ultrafast, and besides, the mobs you are skinning are dropping lots of meat that can be used for skilling cooking 8)
