Say what?

Post by Hybuir »

Ok. This starts off a while back, on Aggramar I made Roinuj, Dranei Shadowpriest, and leveled him to 39. Then I moved my UD warrior to Aggramar (Horde), but I'm really hating the people there (episode with the uber leet warlock Rath amongst my reasons). On the alliance side on Aggramar is one of my RL best friends that I've known over 10 years that plays a 70 hunter, his girlfriend has a 62 hunter. They both recently got 2 new 70's a priest and a warrior, respectively.

So when I moved my warrior to the server I had some furies cards (3, 4, 7, 8!!!) a Crystalforged War Axe amongst other things, that I handed over when I made the decision not to play him anymore. My friend's priest I helped level his tailoring from 310-370, on several occasions I had all slots on a bank alt (5x16 slots) with complete stacks of netherweave cloth to help him out. Also care packages of 3-5 stacks of arcane dust along with a couple of stacks of netherweb spider silk.

So yesterday I jump on my dranei priest, and I commit myself to grinding the half level to ding 40. I voice my commitment on /g and they say "it's about time" etc etc... so I tell them that I'd need some money to get my lvl 40 mount and ask for help. I take it that my friend was online but afk but she replied with "yes you will." I personalize my request for 80g. I tell her that im making some ragesteel shoulders and I'd pay her back 100g plus the shoulders this weekend (within 4 days). Her reply was "that's why i dont like bribery. just because you give me some items doesn't mean that i have to give you money. I feel hurt." my......... jaw....... drops. she adds "im going to have to think about it, im about to run a dungeon" As soon as I dinged 40 I logged.

They have 3 lvl 70s between them it would be at the most with a single person's effort a 1.5 hour grind at it's slowest. Was my 4 day loan offer too outrageous?

Sheesh, sounds like a pretty selfish friend then, I'd never question helping someone out with mount money like that, if they were a friend (I pretend to be out of money if it's not a friend who's asking, but I'll happily help friends anytime, with no expectation of repayment or anything)

Yeah, my friends and I regularly loan/give each other money when we need it, so I don't see what their issue is... When I was leveling enchanting, my friends sent me greens for mats and I gave them free enchants. When a friend of mine was leveling blacksmithing, my friends and I funneled all our ore and motes of fire & earth to him so he could powerlevel it. It's just what friends do, or at least I thought so :P
