Support for UniUploader

Post by Rollie »

I have started supporting data submissions via the UniUpload application by Matt. It is a small application that can upload your SavedVariable.lua information to WarcraftRealms without any user interaction from you (other than setting the application up and running it). You can get the application here:

http://www.wowroster.net/Downloads/details/id=13.html

There are only a couple of things you have to do to make it work. On the Settings tab, set the URL to http://www.warcraftrealms.com/uniupload.php

There are some optional settings you can set as well that I will post more about soon. Remember, I do not develop this application and hence can offer no support. I would direct you to the website posted here for support.

I have updated my UniUploader support to accept login and password for verification when submitting data.

With the latest version of UniUploader (vr. 1.08) be sure you are in Advanced Mode (click the Advanced Mode button on the Settings tab), then go to the Options tab. Check the first two additional variables boxes.

The variable names need to be user and pw. Type your site username into the box next to user and your site password into the box next to pw.

Now when you upload, in the Server Response tab, you should see where it recognized your login and credited your login with the submission!

Let me know if you have any problems!

Hi,

thanks for adding the support. Its working great.
Everyone using it should also use the following settings:
* Advanced: GZip Compression
* Advanced: Pre-Parse
* Advanced: Variables to keep: myProfile, CensusPlus_Database

This reduced the upload size from 1023kb to 72kb for me.

(sorry for posting as guest first)

Yes, enabling the GZip and only sending the CensusPlus_Database variable will greatly decrease the size of your upload and will increase the speed at which it does so.

You can set up Uniuploader to automatically upload your data every time it senses the file has changed. This way you don't have to do anything but let the app run and it will take care of updates for you!

I had to manually change them everytime I open the program. I disabled auto upload on change as well, and made the changes recommended previously in this thread:
Everyone using it should also use the following settings:
* Advanced: GZip Compression
* Advanced: Pre-Parse
* Advanced: Variables to keep: myProfile, CensusPlus_Database
Hope this helps! When I figure out how to force it to keep the changes to the 2 variable fields I'll pass that along.

Xianna - Thanks for those suggestions! I am also going to allow using 'username' and 'password' as well as 'user' and 'pw' to hopefully make it easier on folks.
