Character Listings Question

Greetings

I had a question that I was hoping maybe someone could help me with. As a guild leader, I LOVE warcraftrealms.com for recruitment purposes. I always check out possible recruits history here before recruiting them into my guild for evaluation purposes just in case they may be assosciated with a guild that I am good friends with that might offer me some feedback or who knows.

I had a recruit over the weekend by the name of Lestai, a level 70 mage on the Windrunner server. When I checked him out here though, he does show has ever existing. I would assume by this that he has had a name change. I questioned him about it and he said he knew nothing about this website, or a name change, didn't buy his char, has 122 days played at level 70, etc..

I figured something is fishy here. It's been 4 days since now, and he still isn't being listed here.

Is there anything a user can do to block their char from even being listed? I know that history can be hidden, but to not list the char at all? Or is something just buggy here?

I think he may be lying to you. There is no way someone with that much playing time can avoid being captured in the data. Of course Windrunner has horrible data submissions with only 7 in the last 30 days which could at least explain why he isn't currently showing up. I suggest you start uploading data for your server since I highly doubt there are only 1500 horde on the whole server. I will also add it to my list, and start doing a few data uploads a day so it will show more accurate data.

I would ask him names of previous guilds he has been in, and than use history on them. Eventually you should be able to find a mage that matches him possibly, but if there has been a name change its impossible to track someone down unless you can show similar gear, professions, etc... I know characters never drop off here. All my old chars that I sold, or changed names is still listed, but just haven't been seen for 2 years.

Also Rollie might be able to help you out with a listing of all 70 horde mages on your server. We can't do it on our end because it would end up bogging down this site, but he can. You might send him an email at rollie at warcraftrealms dot com, and ask him.

The problem is that Windrunner doesn't have someone censusing on the Horde side as much as Alliance:

And yea I too would suggest you start picking up the censusing on that realm

You can block your char history from being seen but you will still see the person show up as listed on the site, instead you will see a message saying the person has chosen to not show their history.

If Lestai has 122 played days then I'm sure many people on the realm would of seen him in various guilds and have grouped with him and can help you decide.

Ahh good idea.

I'll load up the Cenus and try to run it for the horde more regularly if possible

I did a little bit more homework, and still really didn't come up with anything which tells me even more the character was probably bought.

I googled, used Ask, looked up chars with Thottbot, Allakhzam, CT profiler, etc, and it comes up empty.

I found one post by him on a different Guilds forums called Blackrock Cabal, and he left them after 3 days.

I seem to see a lie because he claims all this playing time, but only PvP's with this char, but makes a PVP only character on a PVE realm.

Right in this post he claims he didn't roll this mage until after BC came out after he got tired of seeing mages out dpsing him in raids, but he made this char supposedly when he is bored, and pvp's.

He claims he only pvp's with this char, but he made it because he wanted to out dps hunters in raids.

Also his Hunter is alliance.

Who makes new alts on opposite side factions starting from scratch who only pvp's, but rolls on PVE....

He is stinking the place up...if you are gonna buy a char at least make your story believable.

If you invited this guy to your guild I would /gkick this guy immediately.

Yeah, I would suspect he is either a name change or a server transfer. The chances of a true leveled 70 character are pretty slim, and with 122 /played days, neigh impossible to have never been seen.

I don't want to say it's impossible because it is, but the chances are very slim.
