Gold seller ads on Blizzard official forums!

Post by uigrad »

If that image doesn't show up, you can just go to http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image ... olduz6.jpg

People on the official forums are discussing it now. I'm sure it will be fixed rather soon, but we can laugh at them for now!

By the way, the reason I posted this is just to show how hard it is to find an advertising service that will never let a gold buying ad slip through.

Google's adsense has the option to aprove advertisers first before showing them on your site afaik. Still this is a great laugh right face on the RMT side for sure.

Actually Adsense only allows you to take it out AFTER the fact, you do not have the option to prevent people before their ads run.

That is pretty funny on Blizz's forums though!

Surely it's a shop or the users own PC has been compromised to display it. I've never ever seen anything other than Blizzs own ads on their forums, or does the US forums have general adverts on them as well now?

It looks like it was a bug or hack. The only sites that show now are for wow comic books, tie shirts and minis (board game of wow). Now with my main browser FireFox do not see the ads. Reason is using adblock plus (over 36 million downloads) and AVG safe search. In combo they block 98% of all ads.

When you posted the pictures I have to use IE just to see it.

Hmm... I haven't messed with that option before. Do you get notifications if/when ads would be displayed on your site?
