Do you have it working enough that we could at least start collecting data with it?

That's been my only hesitation thus far.
I want to have the data format finalized before I start spreading it around. This caused some pains in WOW Census and I want to be sure I learned from those mistakes =)
It is close! Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have the mod ready to go and a rudimentary data processing site in place!

Unfortunately the massive gold spamming has already made a significant minority of the population go /anon on some servers, been on a few different boards and the /anon option is rapidly gaining popularity over spam-me-not and CSR reporting. Not only will this skew census data but it will hamper community development as well

Here we go:
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/temp/WAR-Census-0.1.zip
Some caveats -
- As it stands, there is no easy way to filter messages added to the chat box. As such, during a scan, you will get spammed with all of the /who results. This is the most annoying factor atm. The good news is that there is limited delay on sending who requests so a scan can go much quicker.
- There is no pruning or purging in place yet.
- The options on the options panel don't actually do anything yet.

Ok after I initially close the screen after the first census how do I get it to pop back up again to look at the progress throughout the night. I tried commands like /censusplus and nothing but an error.
Also are you going to upload the mod to Curse.com?

so does that mean I can upload data somewhere?Rollie wrote:I haven't been in game since I posted this up. Have been crazy busy, as it seems I always am. I will get in and work on it later today.
On the flip side, I do have preliminary processing up and running and was working on the display.

If I must be honest Rollie, I like the GUI for this better than the one for WoW. I'm one who prefers to see actual numbers for the races and classes rather than bars. Ever thought about making the WoW gui look similar to this? It would also give the products of Warcraftrealms.com a more standardized look.
Possibility of an option in the interface to show one or the other? The reason I ask is I like to play the race/class combos with the lowest representation on the realms. I'm strange that way. Plus I dislike being in the most popular race/class combo on a realm. Powerplayers is what I call themRollie wrote:No, updates cannot go through yet.
As for a similar version for WoW, I honestly had planned on moving to bars for the Warhammer one eventually ;p I'll think it over.

Would be nice to have an easy way to tell the numbers on a certain race/class combo.
