What's your take on guildportal.com?

'Cause I decided to use it to manage a basic guild website. So far, the interface is fairly basic.. At least I don't have to hand-code my stuff now (Templates <3). I just wanna know what exactly everyone else thinks on it.

Of course, since I'm a high school student with a barely-above-minimum-wage job, I can't quite put enough money for my own domain name.. Yet. Eventually, I plan on creating forsakenodyssey.com, and that should turn out pretty nice.

Anyways, I just wanted to know your guys' opinion on the site.

I can't say for sure what I think of the site, since I'm not our guild's webmaster, but it SEEMS as though it's pretty customizable, and it's handy for the person who doesn't want to have to do all the work themselves. Our guild webmaster doesn't seem to want to do jack for the small bit that he has to do, so I haven't been able to see the full extent of what guild portal has to offer.

That's just me being annoyed that they won't let someone else take over the job if he's not going to take the time to update it... lol

Used it a lot for DAOC before, cuts down a lot on time needed to manage things and adds most of the stuff you need unless you're a big raid guild. I tend to like stuff that's free ;)

My guild uses it, but it doesn't seem to be to useful so far. It mainly has the calendar where we setup raids.

Our guild won't even use the website to set up raids. They announce in the forum and then on the guild announcement in game, but not on the calendar.

I mean, why pay for a service if you aren't going to use it!

Ok. I'm done venting now. ;)

We do both, but this gives us an idea to signup to see how many we got, and it gives us a longer term idea, so we can set them up more then inadvance.

I used Guild Portal for my guild in DAOC. I really liked it. I found it easier and more convenient than trying to manage a website and seperate set of forums ~ but then, anything that gives me more time to play and less time dinking around is a plus with me. Oh, and free is good too. It isn't "sexy", but it will do the job.
