I asked our guild leader to allow HTML for the signatures..but it still doesn't work.

Okay, you're using phpbb, you should be able to just use BBcodes. Put this in your signature section of your guilds forums:
Code: Select all
[img]http://www.warcraftrealms.com/sig/7277343.jpg[/img]
And see if that works for you.
