I wasn't able to find this anywhere on the website ( I read
the FAQs, but I may have missed it), but can someone tell
me how the ID #s were assigned to characters? When you
look up their data sheet, it says something like:

Rollie (ID 523520)

Are these ID numbers randomly assigned, or do they have
any significance?

Just curious.

Pretty much random. It's just the next number in line when your character was first 'seen' during a census snapshot.
