Fast server growth ??

Im comming back to WOW and i was looking for a new server to start over on. i was looking for a real high population so i can meet lots of new people. after looking at your stats on this site it seems arie peek is the highest populated server atm. but when i went ingame to the server it said "NEW" . my question is...is this a error,how can a new server have the highest population ??? Tks in advance or responces =)

When a new server opens, typically players flock to it to start over. Then when most of the players hit level 45 or so, it tends to level out as players leave for other servers, get bored with their new class, or whatever. At least that's what I've seen... there's probably other reasons as well, but it's not an error.

Are you looking at the right country's stats? The US Aerie Peak server has a massive population (no idea about its age), while the European Aerie Peak is fairly new if I remember rightly (although it still has a largeish population)
