Census+ is...
Census+ is...
Definitely for the win. I downloaded this mod as part of Cosmos (Trying a new UI after 2.0 broke CTMod to pieces), and I absolutely love it. This is the kind of thing I get into, collecting data and seeing the breakdown of all sorts of information. I'm posting just to say to Rollie and everyone else that has helped this project that you guys are awesome, and that I hope to stick around and put my 2 cents into keeping my server's census'd.
Oh, and what's the interval for the "Auto-run census' function that states it automaticly runs Census+ while playing? I'd like to leave my character on for a bit while I go to work so that I can collect data in the mornings when I least play.
Thanks!

Good to see new people picking up the mod and enjoying it
I'm not sure what the interval is for the auto census, but I think it's like 10 minutes. I usually just manually census pretty often, so I never have it turned on.
On a side note, I used to use the whole CTmod compilation before 2.0 as well. Now I still use some parts of it (the buffmod and unitframes being the 2 prime examples) but I've switched to as many Ace/Ace2 mods as possible to save on memory useage.
Anyway, enjoy the mod! I'm sure somebody else will post after me with the exact interval for auto census, as they're usually pretty quick about that sorta thing

Thanks! I'll set it to 5 or 10 minutes myself. I like really accurate counts.Balgair wrote:I think the interval is 30 minutes by default, but you can change it, just type "/censusplus timer XX" where XX is the number of minutes you want - I have it set to 10
Great to see new people enjoying the mod, yep - the more censusers the better, as more censuses = better stats

Ace/Ace2? I've heard of them but don't know a lot about them. I'll go check them out. Either way I plan on running by some of my old realms to do a quick few scans. Too many red entry counts on the server list imo.
www.wowace.com has all the mods which are written fully in Ace2. www.wowinterface.com also has alot of them as well, such as author's home pages and discussion threads on Ace2 mods. Before I made the switch my addons use to hit 90mb and the garbage collection use to take 2-3 seconds to complete and then dropping down to 55mb for the least. Now with the Ace2 mods I start off with 30mb and it runs up to 55mb for the max. Fps has double to it being pretty much me running WoW without addons, well just a little less fps than it is when you alt + z to hide the interface. But I really like it.
I started off using a compliation named All Deuce UI (Ace2):

But basically removed over half of those mods since I really didn't need them, eventhough they looked nice when installed. My fps really needs a boost and some of the skinning that some mods had took a bit hit on my fps. But even with all the mods installed, it wasn't anywhere near what Cosmos had.

Thankfully I don't have to worry about CT raid. All though I used to be in a raiding guild that required it and yes it took up a ton of memory. I was never happy with CTraid until about 8 months ago. It seems like they fixed the bugs and annoying-ness of it. I guess from what I hear 2.0 really broke it again. Must be frustrating as a developer.
Now with Bongos, SCT, Census, and Necrosis for my warlock I am only around 19MB. I haven't checked it recently, but I don't like it to go over 30MB.
And to the OP. You have no idea how grateful we are here that you are excited about Censusing. Its nice to see new names here and people willing to Census more than 1 server. Thanks for joining this crazy family. haha Now you just have to compete with Sianni and Balgair for the Top Censusing spot...lol

Now we wait for the DB to catch up.
Also... I noticed last night on my rogue, something odd. I logged in and checked census to show that i'd recorded ~4k players. Later on after scanning a few times I look to find only 1.6k players recorded. What's going on here? Were my entries deleted or are they backlogged somewhere in the censusplus.lua?
