Interesting Data

Post by Rollie »

So I've been accepting BG data for a few days now. One thing I've noticed. There is A LOT more server transferring going on than I was aware of. The BG stuff in particular catches a lot of lvl 60 transfers. The amount of transferring characters is a lot higher than I would have expected.

hehe I just transferred 2 days ago! I think right now, a lot of ppl are using those free transfers and are also paying to get a nice clean start for BC. Especially some of the higher populated servers. There is no way I could even play BC on Emerald Dream when the queue is probably going to be 700+ for a month or more. It was already 300+ every night.

I am so glad I left my old battlegroup. This one is so much more enjoyable. :D

My girlfriend and I, and probably our guild leader are looking to transfer to a pve-rp server for BC, because we play on a PVP server and we can't stand to go another 10 levels being ganked by johnny undead rogue.

Ah, but think of it!

When you two get to 60 (70?), you can do the same thing to the lower levels!

Meh, that gets old. Besides, i've wanted to have my main on a roleplay server since forever, and now I have the opportunity.

Just so you know, once you go from a PVP server to a PVE /RP server you will never be able to go to another pvp server ever. There are a few RP PVP servers out there that might be better. All though, I just left Emerald Dream because the queues and idiots were getting out of control.

Although it's quite possible that Mal'ganis will be virtually unplayable during expansion (knock on wood), I can't leave my guild, the friends I've made and my RL friends on Mal'ganis. There's also no way I could get them all to transfer, haha :P It didn't help that the server they gave us a free transfer to is PST, and being EST there's no way I could keep up with raid times there. 1 hour time difference is ok, 3 is too much. The worst part is that some people who did try to transfer got stuck and didn't make it - some guilds are stuck with half the people on Mal'ganis and half on Nazjatar.

I can't say I'm not worried. The amount of people in Outland is going to be crazy. I can only hope and pray that I can still get some leveling done...

Its going to be crazy on Silvermoon as well... Currently sitting in a queue of 550 people.... But even with our free realm transfer I doubt many will leave. I can't leave all the friends I have made on both horde and alliance. Even with this queue of nearly 40mins... Its hard to leave all those close friends behind =(

This is going to be a very interesting week

Bleeding Hollow just hit queue status again, been a while since that happened, I think most old servers with medium pop or higher will be hitting queue status more or less... lets hope we don't see any realm splits until things settle down a bit, quite a few returnees will likely leave soon again as they remember why they quit in the first place.

...and yes, I'm surprised at the number of transfers and have been for months simply by noticing new 60's with no history on the server (since I know my server is very well mapped for a long time a character that suddenly pops as a 60 has a very high chance of coming from another server). The talk about splits have made many semi-casual guilds that never thought about transfers before due to the risk of splitting the guild make the move this time, that and things like languages other than english becoming dominant in /General (not a rasist thing necessarily, you can't understand the people you play with you will have a lot less fun).

I'm feeling lucky, Draenor doesn't tend to get much over 100 queues even at peak times. I imagine it'll go up a bit, but we've been offered a free transfer too, and I know one guild has gone - everyone I know is staying put, which suits me as I don't want to leave (hey, we've got the best server name there is right now, considering the content of the expansion :P), but hopefully queues won't be too much.

Hellfire Peninsula tomorrow will be just plain awful however... I've shifted my sleeping hours so I'm sleeping through the peak times and being awake through the middle of the night, which will hopefully make it playable, but it's still going to be crowded!

Yeah, for awhile we were up to about 700+ person queues, but it's gone down to about 300ish lately. I'm hoping it doesn't spike back up too badly...

Yeah, the queues on Aggramar have forced my guild to migrate to the new Madoran server...(if I can get the bloody transfers to go through)

Heh good luck on that one. It took my hunter 3 days to do a paid transfer. However, my warlock took 10 minutes and they were done within the same transaction. It's quite possible you won't have your character for tomorrow.

I've heard that some people on Silvermoon who transfered to Arathor have said that if you cancel the transfer and try again it may go faster.....
