Warlocks: Fun class to play?

I've been hearing friends of mine re-roll locks and they say that they love it. Overpowered, masters of the grind and dps machines! A friend of mine was mostly in greens, at lvl 61, got jumped by a 70 warrior... and ended up winning
The thing is that I'd like to try it converting from a shadow priest to a lock alt and I dont know if it would be the same ol same ol for me or actually a nice change.
Has anyone re-rolled a lock recently? Feedback? Suggestions?

I rolled my first lock a couple months ago and have had fun playing him. I have him up to level 52. It's pretty easy to level and with all the abilities to gain life/mana, I really don't have any down time when grinding. I don't find using him much of a challenge, so some folks might get bored quick with it. I like to grind though, so it works well for me.

The thing is that there is no wrong spec as a warlock. Demon Spec for grinding/lvling, affliction or demonology for dps... truly versatile and all you need to do to be pve is no agro
might be my new pet project.

with a warlock, you can go to sleep and get back up and the target will still be dying..
with a mage, you can just blink your eye and the target is dead.
pew pew ftw

having both a low lvl mage(26) and lock(23)...I can mow thru things faster with the mage, but the time to drink mana makes it about equal timewise ...with the time spent with the lock fighting things since I almost never have to stop for mana breaks with the lock

Loving my lock alt at the moment, heavy affliction spec so dot dot dot and the mob dies. Group of 3 mobs? Dot dot dot, change target, dot dot dot, change target, dot howl of terror dot dot and they usually all drop dead before they get back to me

Great mana conservation when I get it working well too, sometimes I run a bit low but generally I don't have to stop for a break unless I've had a tough fight with adds or on an elite or something.
Might be a bit similar to a shadowpriest; I respecced my undead priest to shadow the other day to have it a different spec to my draenei priest (I've always been disc or holy on priests before, never shadow) and found it a poor imitation of my warlock in playing style, in that I was just dotting and mindflaying (instead of drain life), but the priest has less options and kills slower - similar playstyles but warlock is way more fun in my opinion.

I rerolled from a shadow priest to a warlock, right about the time that WoW 2.0 came out. I definitely found it to be more fun, but with the massive nerfs on dots that are coming, you may want to look into a non-dot class for pvp.

I assume you are referring to the resilience changes? I wouldn't necessarily call them massive by any measure.

I've started a lock alt myself. And in 1 1/2 day /played time it's upto lvl 27 1/2 now.
I am using Brain Kopps lvl guide, which I love! This guide really shows ya the best way to do things.. Honestly
Anywho. Locks aren't bad at all

No class, for me, has leveled faster than a mage. Honestly, I just can't imagine wanting to level any other class.
A lock may go through monsters fast, but a Mage can port to cities and cut out huge amounts of travel time. Blink is also nice at cutting out travel time. Plus a mage can handle all sorts of situations with sheep and ice spells.
