World PVP - on a PVP realm

Just curious of those of you who do play on PVP realms --if you hear about say an enemy faction attacking one of your cities will you go to fight them off or die trying?

The reason I post this is I had a somewhat frustrating experience last night. Three 70 alliance were at Thrallmar....as a 65 priest I don't have much of a chance against them, but hey they were invading horde territory. It was a 70 hunter and 2 70 mages. I probably spent 15 or 20 mins charging them or fear them into thrallmar guards trying to get others in the area to help out. On the horde side of things of those who seemed to show some sort of "desire" to want to engage in PVP contest with these three were a 70 rogue and 70 shaman....the shaman didnt even try to help out and the rogue kindof started to attack them but didnt...I sent him a tell asking why he stopped and he said he was scared. Why would someone even play on a PVP server if they were scared of fighting? there was no penalty for dying because it was right next to the graveyard....I guess I just needed to vent and wonder why sometimes people just dont seem to care about this kind of thing.

Any thoughts?

You mean PVP happens on a PVP realm?!?!??!

I find that on a PVE realm like Silvermoon, if someone was attacking a town you would find people from all levels helping out, although not all at once and of course there would be spectators, but for the most part people do help out. My guild attempted to take over Honor Hold a couple of weeks ago and we had tons of fun but there was alot of Alliance there from all levels helping out. Although the guards are what we had more issues with than the Alliance =(

Ok, 2 level 70s, guards, and a level 65 priest vs 3 lvl 70s.

And the 2 level 70s are scared to fight? wtf?

Your server has issues then. Most people on my server would take those odds.

Maybe it was the mentality of the player behind the character...could be that these 2 lvl 70s were the type of player who only engages in PVP if they know they can win the fight

you mostly find hunters/mages/shadowpriests doing that sorta stuff... but when mellee (druid/rogue) do it's hillarious... even as a 65 priest you can still fear em and such.. fun stuff!

Most people on Mal'ganis would take the odds just to watch the guards kill the alliance and then spit on their corpse. Then again, most people on Mal'ganis are kind of jerks... haha ;)

I'll engage in town pvp given the chance, since if they're out for pvp anyway I might as well join in. If it's out in the world randomly I'm usually a carebear though, I'm much more likely to /poke or /wave at alliance than I am to kill them. I actually help lowbies when I see them having trouble with mobs adding. But, that's just me.

I'm not saying all world pvp should be consentual on pvp realms (since that's what pve realms are for), but it's sad when most peoples' definition of world pvp is flying around on their epic flying mount with 2-3 buddies on their epic flying mounts ganking people at half life or less while they're questing. That's just stupid.

Once on a level 12-14 (not sure) orc warrior in the PVE realm trollbane (I will change realms soon) I heard that the valley of trials was being attacked so i ran all the way there and at first it looked like hell. There were bones everywhere
and then a group of about 3-4 humans came 2-3 were Paladins and there was a hunter. So I attacked a pally and he once shots me (duh) and i do repeat that until i got tired and logged off
