Another item that has me a little miffed from my experience from last night (see world pvp on a pvp realm thread) is that hunters can shoot their arrows through terrain...I guess any class who can shoot an item can do so, but in this particular case it wouldnt have made sense for a priest to wand the hunter thru the terrain....so I can't cast a spell because there is no line of sight, but his hunter can shoot me to death without line of sight (LoS)? How messed up is that?
Puts casting classes at a BIG disadvantage especially in hilly terrain where targets can move out of LoS easily.

Why can't they put a Line of sight rule on ranged abilities like there is with casting? Seems like the same rule with casting could be applied with range. If they can eliminate a caster from casting due to LoS why not use the same thing with range?
The above is just a theoretical question...I realize that the mechanics for each are probably completely un-related and would require different methods of programming.

Hmmm, not that unrelated really, the effect of fixing it are harsher for hunters though unless they come up with some new workaround. Doing a terrain overhaul simply won't happen, you have 9M subscribers clearly saying that they don't need to focus too much on resource demanding fixes like that. If we're lucky it might be a part of some expansion pack overhaul as xpacks is generally where you can spend some time developing the engine mechanics.
It will be interesting to see how this kind of issues are dealt with in the next generation MMO's though as we see some more physics and even serious attempts at using collision detection between opposing avatars as a means of adding tactics rather than the current very artificial CC solutions.

If they were to completely fix the LoS issue in Wow, it would put all non melee classes at a SEVERE disadvantage in pvp. Since melee classes don't ever need to worry about LoS, they'd have it much easier in sticking with a target. I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good thing for improving the need for tactics in combat, but in Wow it would take quite a class overhaul and game mechanic change to balance it afterwards.
Alanthus is right though, I guess we'll see how they change that in upcoming games when they can do it from the beginning.
