Over the past couple of days WCR has been the undesired vessel of a recent Real Player vulnerability attack. If you have Real player installed, you really need to patch your version as this is a very real vulnerability.

The particular attack that has been attempted here specifically targets IE users running on Windows XP. What was seen here on WCR was the malicious spam on the forums which when viewed could attempt to load the real player exploit code.

Heh yeah I won't touch RealPlayer any more, absolute parasite of a program, took forever to get it out of my system. Quicktime is annoying too but unfortunately I need it to play the videos my digital camera makes, sigh.

Glad to hear these attacks are RealPlayer based and not general though as I was wondering if they might be doing anything to my system, will still keep a close eye out!
