Hi,
Im currently on blackwater raiders west server and thinking of changing to an east coast one cause of my high ping.
Whats the best and high populated east cost server close to the Montreal Area?

There are no realms located in Canada. The closest data center would be in Boston.
You can check out the list here:

Nice resource, this link should be on WR's home page.
Is there a way to see which data center has the most people and which data center has the best latency?

nope. but the closer you are the better the latency. from TX to US Boulderfist I still get a 75ms ping so it just depends on your ISP too

Some battlegroups seem to crash more than others (Ruin battlegroup), which just so happens to be the most populated battlegroup, it also may have something to do with how crowded the data center is. I haven't noticed crashes for the last few months, although I've barely played at all.
Has anyone else noticed some battlegroups crashing more than others?
PS. a rough estimate can be made using wojutsu.com data in conjunction with wowwiki.com/US realm list by data center, to see which data center is the biggest. Assuming each data center has the same hardware, the data center with the most people should have the slowest latency.

I have noticed that stormstrike seems to crash more than rampage, but those are the only two battlegroups that have servers on which I regularly play.
