Just curious after the token was introduced, is there anyone that dropped their sub and rely only on gold to pay for the game?
Just getting into garrisons and although I have a few scattered 100's that haven't done much after leveling up, but it might be interesting to make it a point to maximize garrison quests to get the 20-25k gold per month.
If you did, what's your method?

If I was in the US, I definitely would've done, but it's ~45k gold over here (actually hit 50k yesterday, I think

) and that's a bit much to sustain without serious grinding, especially as I have two accounts
I could easily manage 20-25k a month, even with only 2 lvl 100s I easily make that, just through tons of garrison missions (salvage crates give sooo much vendorable stuff, in addition to the gold missions), crafting, and the odd run through old raids, vendor most, and sell the BoE epics/recipes, can take a while to offload stuff, but most sell sooner or later.
I actually have tons of gold at present, but I've been saving up for a ZG tiger ever since I heard they can appear on the black market - now I've got enough gold to bid up to the goldcap for it, I just need to find one! It was actually up the other day, but someone got there before me and maxed it out, so I'll just have to hope I get lucky enough to spot it one day

Now I've got enough for that, I can start considering buying tokens with future earnings, but it won't be a regular thing while they stay at their current price.

For me, I use it the other way around $$ for gold, legitimately. My play time is limited so I've even go the other way around at 23k gold a token.

just for giggles
I did the buy token process on my PTR account from my copied character.
on PTR the gold amount was the baseline 10,000
I got the token and triggered the time purchase..
I then got an email confirmation from Blizzard.

Now price is 85-90K....

Yep! I'd happily pay 45k now lol, to think I felt it was too much back then...

Tbh I think it's mainly the comparison with the US price that makes it seem wrong - even allowing for exchange rates varying, I'm sure I don't pay more than 20% more than US players in real money for my sub - so when the gold price is 100% more it feels like a ripoff and I refuse to do it!
I do like the availability of the token though, because it gives me a gold value for real money purchases - I've never been keen on paying real money for ingame stuff but now I can translate that price into gold and decide if it feels worth it - if it does I'll buy the real money thing and then buy a token for gold to get my money back. Back at christmas when they had the usual pet sale on, tokens were 60k, and the half price pets meant it was 2 for the price of 1 month's sub - I figured if I was offered 2 of the pets I really liked for 30k each I'd be delighted to pay that, so I did
