Faulty processing of files?
Faulty processing of files?
Today, I levelled my Gobbo Rogue Vixx from 70 to 75..
After each ding, I did a /census me, reloaded UI, checked the LUA (new level WAS in the file) and then uploaded the LUA..
Level 71 is recorded on the toon, but 72-75 is not.. --> http://www.warcraftrealms.com/char/134066526
All my files (1/6-13) have run without error --> http://www.warcraftrealms.com/usersheet ... 012111&c=u
Any ideas???
Is it only me, WHO have these problems, or have others noticed something similar?

Some of the various parts of the web site work from a cache. I have reduced the cache life to 1 day for most cached items. I am not certain about this page or this information.
Do you normally see this information updated on the char sheet in real time or is it delayed like the main census page?
I am in the middle of my ToT10 Normal raid atm. I hate Horridon. Back later.

I had mentioned this bug in another thread elsewhere in the forums, but I hadn't bothered to create a thread here in the proper forum. It seems to have been happening ever since files began processing again after the migration. When a character is seen multiple times in a single day, the character's level is only recorded the first time the character is seen that day. It is not a display caching issue, the data from the later scans of the character at higher levels that day is simply lost.
The level-info have always been displayed immediately, after the LUA containing the info was processed.metalbeast wrote:Do you normally see this information updated on the char sheet in real time or is it delayed like the main census page?
10 more hours have now gone (and ~20ish since ding 72) and still display 71..

I have spent some time on this today. In between work and making sure my all hunter event today was being properly advertised.. lol.
Anyway, I have located the table that contains these updates and also the locations where this data is being inserted during the file processing. The database is matching exactly what is displayed on your character sheet.
I have isolated it down to several specific queries but I need to research a bit further before making any updates.
Is the file that contains the update on the server now? If so, I would like to use it for testing and will be resetting the processed flag. This will result in it looking like the status goes from N to possible Q or possibly even E.
Is this OK with you?

I'll try to reconstruct, as best I can, from memory, so it might not be 100% accurate.
The hardware upgrade (or whatever you did) last week have sped up processing extremely, so real time tracking is almost possible now.. Thanx for that.
After Vixx dinged 71 and the file (09:17:34) was processed, it was displayed as such.
I levelled to 72 and uploaded (11:09:58 ), and continued to 73 (13:52:53).
At this time, I took a break.. When I returned, last 2 files were processed, but Vixx still listed as 71.
I edited the LUA manually to list Vixx as 72 (as I like to have all levels listed on my toons) and uploaded again (15:48:41). This file listed 0s as expected, but Vixx was still 71..
I logged on and played a bit and uploaded (16:15:33), still level 73, but listed as 71.
Played some more, dinged 74 and upoaded (16:35:54). Still listed at 71.
Played some more, dinged 75 and uploaded (18:18:54). Still listed as 71..
And today, I'm still listed as 71.. As I see it, it's unlikely, that Vixx is the only affected character, but I have no other toons to track right now..

I figured more data would help.
This morning I took a census with this character still at level 51, and uploaded it at 17:46:06.
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/char/1631995
I then leveled the character to level 52, took a census, and uploaded it at 18:40:30.
As you can see, the character still displays level 51.
Does that help?
(And if you want to reprocess files causing Es or Ns or Qs to be displayed, I am okay with that.)

Thanks for the additional data Fett. It is a bit strange. I see the updates for Toro when I look at the guild via the link below. However this is not showing the correct level of this toon.
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/guildshee ... id=2932146
But for some reason (still unknown) it is not showing up in the character sheet.
I continue to work on this issue.
Just a quick update.

I think I understand the source of confusion, maybe.
I didn't level Toro to 51 on Wednesday; he had been 51 for nearly four months.
I censused him at 51 before leveling him.
After leveling him to 52 I censused him again.
The Last Seen in the box at the top of the character sheet is correct, at June 5.
The date he achieved 51, February 6, is also correct.
What's missing is the line saying that he achieved level 52 on June 5.
I think the source of the confusion is that it's the first time a character is seen in a day is all that's recorded, not just the first time they level.
I hope that helps.
Thanks for the update. It's always nice to know when things are being looked at.

At one time I thought that was the case also... but in other threads I found character urls that pointed to single characters that had multiple level updates recorded in a single day.
i.e. level census upload.. repeat.
I remember at least one that had 3 levels in the same day.. and their might have been one with 4 but I'm not sure on that.

Multiple updates on same ate have always been possible, just take a look at my DK as an example --> http://www.warcraftrealms.com/char/163783709
It really really needs to be fixed, back in time, so we can get our history intact..
