It does seem random...

Almost like that cookie is set to expire much earlier than expected.

Ok, I think it is a cookie issue.
Just now it automatically logged me on (or maybe never logged me off; I don't think it's the latter), and all topics were marked as read. Per usual, when my internet decides to be retarded (really should call Comcast about it...), cookies usually disappear. etc etc.
When I say automatically, that also means it isn't a usual behavior; I have to manually click the login button (gogo Firefox imo) and that usually logs me.

Oh, when this happens to me, I'm actually automatically logged in. Don't have to click log in or anything. I'm logged in. But all topics mark as read when I read one.

I find if you read a topic, then click on the forum index that it works okay. However, if you hit back on your browser it can mess up and then all of the posts will be marked as read.
So what I have been doing is go to one of the forums, read a post, then click on (for example) Warcraftrealms.com bugs link. If there are no more posts to read, I then click on WCR.com forum index and it always works. Besides the back button messing it up, I am not sure what else causes it. However, I know I have seen the issue that you are all describing. It happens to me maybe once a week.

I have figured out what causes the browser to mark all posts as read.
It occurs when you click on any type of link while in the forums. Even if you click on someone's profile link and allow it to open in the same window. When you try to hit back to go back to the index all of the posts will be marked as read.
So to avoid this from happening.
1) Do not click on any links as you are scanning the forums.
2) Always open the link in a new tab in Firefox.
I am not sure if this is something you can fix Rollie, but I figured out why it happens.
This way you can all avoid this from happening to you.
