*another sigh* Queue has almost entirely choked and more files have failed. And not only mine... at least Bringoutyourdead also has a file failure, lots of other people I checked either don't have files on 31st (after about 14 hours WCR time) or the queue hasn't gotten to their's yet.

I've been having better luck.
I also have an answer to a question we already knew the answer to.
A while back, I took half a dozen files that had failed and re-uploaded them.
Every single one of them processed successfully this time.
We were already pretty sure the file itself had nothing to do with the failures, but this pretty well seals it.

I give up. This site hasn't worked properly almost since the release of MoP, and uploads have been backlogged for months now.
I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but if the owner can't handle site/database maintenance, maybe it's time for someone else to take over.
I realize we aren't paying anything to use this service, but the site is seriously broken, and has been for a long time.

Oddly enough, no one who has the skills to maintain the site has volunteered to step up and take it over. All that's involved is someone with the necessary skills who wants to invest a lot of time and money, and put up with abuse from users. Surprisingly, people just aren't beating down the door looking for that opportunity.

Backlog isn't really reducing and I can see that the failures and delays have already destroyed data as some of my own characters have been updated by other people and levelling info has been skipped, though I know I have it in my files.

We were catching up until the server stopped responding and processing. I'm hoping that when it gets to that same time in processing it will jump ahead and get back to closing in on current.
But we are pushing this poor old machine to the limit.
With Rollie having to be out of town for his RL job it makes it hard to do quick fixes, and with the economy the way it has been I expect he doesn't have much money for doing updates.
That is why I used paypal to send him $20, I hope enough people have and will do much the same, and maybe Rollie will be able to upgrade the hardware and get the site back into shape.
