Take a look at this: http://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.php?serverid=749
Over 30% of Moon Guard is Blood Elves. That's alliance and horde combined. This number gets more out of whack as more updates are processed. I know that Blood Elves were designed to help balance Alliance and Horde populations, but I think they over shot a bit. I'm hoping this settles down eventually, but Emberstorm battlegroup right now seems to have at least 1.5:1 Horde over Alliance, and some servers well in excess of 2:1 Horde over Alliance.
So, this Blood Elf thing is a bit crazy:
hey atleast your H:A Ratio is fine
http://www.warcraftrealms.com/census.ph ... ertypeid=3
Total Characters: 8,523
Showing Guild: All
Total Alliance: 1,794 - 21%
Total Horde: 6,729 - 79%
A to H Ratio: 1 : 3.8
Even if no one plays on your server :/

I rolled a Blood Elf Warlock on Auchindoun for kicks. I was kind of shocked to see the initial realm data on the site. It'll be interesting to see how these servers develop.
Today was also the first time I really gave the A:H ratios a good look. I never caught on to the overall tendency for alliance to roll PvE and horde to roll PvP. Odd, that.

Wow, just wow!
All the new PVP servers are stupidly imbalanced. Is the draw to BE for the leet PVP players that strong?
I notice the new PVE/RP servers are quite different. But whereas it is not unusual to see 3:1 on PVE, the ratio is down to 2:1 for most (ally to horde).
I am going to guess that in the long run, the added race will help balance out PVE servers, but it looks like this is going to tip the scales for PVP servers. Hopefully this won't overly impact established PVP servers though.
By and large, most PVP servers were not typically too breakingly unbalanced, I wonder if this is going to turn that for the worse.

On Silvermoon horde side Undeads are still ahead of the Blood Elfs by like a dozen chars only as the popular horde char. I expect that to change in a few days when the Elfs take over. We already have a couple of Blood Elfs in their high 50's and should hit 60 today or tomorrow. Pally's are the popular choice atm. With the rest lagging behind at 15% belonging to warlocks as the 2nd most popular Blood Elf class.
Myself and several others who I quest with often, started chars to simply get away from the competition in Outland for the bosses and such. So that could be a reason why we are seeing alot of Blood Elfs running around. Also maybe people who are trying out the quest line in the starting areas. And maybe other reason too! I guess we'll see how things go in the months ahead when we get alot of Blood Elf's raiding =) I predict the balance will be fine in the end.
Eversong Woods is pretty much Barrens Chat 2.0. And with that many are thinking that the hordes will get alot of people who QQ about the simple things and there will be alot of drama and such going on with these new 'kids' coming on rolling horde.

I rolled a BE pally for the heck of it, and there's a ton of blood elves running around. According to my repeated censusing on Mal'ganis, they just overtook undead as the largest population horde race, even. Not that I expect all of them to hang around, since a good 40% of them are levels 1-9 or so.
It's true that Eversong and Ghostlands are both barrens chat 2.0, so much that I had to leave general chat (just like I did leveling characters through barrens.) However, the Ghostlands quests ended up being very fun, and very quick leveling - I actually found myself enjoying the area a lot. I'm sad that I finished all the quests there and I have to move on to more traditional zones, heh (My BE is 21 now)
As far as server balance goes, this influx of more horde should help out some pve servers where the allies have outnumbered the horde ridiculously for quite some time. I'm sure some battlegroups could actually use an increase in horde, to lessen the ally queues (although Stormstrike has instant queues for both horde and alliance, except AV which alliance has to wait for a little bit from what I hear.) Mal'ganis has always been horde heavy, so not much has changed here. I'm guessing more alliance shaman will be created once the alliance have their mains at 70 and want a separate character for pvp.
