Innacurate local vs site info

Post by Eleazaros »

I'm on Steemwheedle server. It's new.

I showed 53 60th level people on the server from my local database for the Horde so I did a Prune just to make sure. This dropped the number to 49. The site shows 47 60th level people. I'd figure my data would be less accurate and show lower numbers... Especially when I look at the upload ratio's on data (like 1063 for horde side).

Could you explain how my local database, for 1 person, shows more people than the site does when my data is uploaded daily and I take full census info 2-3 times a day?

Thanks.

I assume when you upload, that you are not logged into the site? I was going to make sure your files are being handled properly but there are no upload files associated with your login here on the site.

Also, it is possible due to timing differences from when you did your prune as to when the server processed the last uploaded file. In order to find the exact mismatch, I would need to be able to view your file vs the info that we are displaying here.

No, I don't log into the site normally for uploads. I simply hit the submit button to do the upload. I adjusted the upload to use m login now so that should help.

As to timing differencess, I uploaded last night and checked the info today when I logged on. It's possible it could be out of synche due to merge time issues I supose but I'd figure you have the merges going quite frequently vs a 10+ hour gap in there unless down for scheduled maintenance.

Additional Info on this:

I'm using the UniUploader.

Config is set to use the following profile: (cut and pasted from the settings)

http://warcraftrealms.com/uniupload.php

Account is selected/set accurately. (not going to list account info).

I adjusted it to it's advanced mode so I could check out some of the info and the following error showed up with it.

File Upload Response from Website:

Code: Select all

<!-- ############ Uploading to Primary URL...
     ############  http&#58;//warcraftrealms.com/uniupload.php -->

IP&#58; 71.212.125.18<br />
United States<br />
No file found
This got me thinking a little so I checked out the PhP file then checked out some other settings...

Well, when you configure the tool for use with this site, there are 3 things you need to do:

1) Put in the Config URL --

http://warcraftrealms.com/uniupload.php

2) Select the account to be used from the pulldown.

3) Click the "Show SV's" button (show saved variables file list) and Select CensusPlus from the list.

Optionally you can specify Account and Password for the site.

If problems show up, you'll need to switch to Advanced Mode (button), go to Server Responses tab and see what the server responses are. If it's "file not found" then the saved variables Censusplus file hadn't been selected in the list or you picked a location that didn't have that file in it.

It will give NO error messages just clicking the upload button.

Personally I find it humorous that I have been taking census information 2-4 times a day, almost every day, and uploading it once a day via this tool but never did I notice that it wasn't doing it's job -- for the past several months. The status bar would show "Uploading" and almost immediatly it would finish.

Now it takes a wee bit longer to upload... *snicker*

lol, well, that would explain a little!

Sorry to hear you haven't been getting credit for the uploads. Make sure you have your account info entered correctlys o you'll get credit for the updates! That way you'll be entered for the monthly drawings!

Not to worried about the credit bit. More into helping with accuracy of information.

I like the site and the info it provides. Being as I like using it and I'm not playing for it, I should at least be willing to help collect it... That's my thoughts on the matter anyway.
