I am new to the census thing and had a quick question...
DO you have to upload a census each time you run one? I run census on say Firetree and then want to do a census on kelthuzad...do I need to upload it(firetree) first before running on kethuzard or does it save the census data so you know which is which from each server? I run a huge amount of census's and then upload all at once.
noob question on census useage

Despite the extension being some funky WoW extension, it is a text file and you can open it in a text editor and see exactly what you're uploading. I did that before my first upload just to be sure everything was safe in there (not being an expert in WoW scripting, I don't yet know what kinds of information they can record, so I wanted to be sure).
You can do that with the 'saved data' from any add-on as far as I can tell, and before uploading them, you probably should check to see what that person is asking you to upload.

Yep, it saves all the data, just beware if you census several servers that the file can grow too large to be processed - I believe 20MB is the absolute limit, and to get even that high you have to use UniUploader; the website's upload page won't take higher than 10MB. So if you do census a lot, it's an idea to purge/prune your database if it gets too large
Btw if you want to keep the data for one particular server but purge the rest, "/censusplus serverprune" when logged in on the server you want to keep does the trick - before 2.0 I had a 8MB database with about 50,000 characters on for my server, but lost it all in the patch mess - I tried to add my old file in but the mod just overwrote it every time... oh well, time to start again
