Are Mag'har and Dark Iron active on the realms?

Post by bringoutyourdead »

Or is there an issue still with War Campaigns?

I have not seen any being caught in Census runs...

Greetings Bringoutyourdead!

As far as I can tell from some of the posts on the EU fora, I think we will start to see dark iron dwarves around Friday evening / Saturday morning CEST and Mag'har about 2-3 days later (apparently some horde side reputation sources are not working as intended).

As far as I know, I have not recorded any as of yet.

Yes, that sounds about right, I too haven't seen any yet, so the rep gating is clearly still in progress. And yes, certain Horde quests aren't giving rep when the Alliance counterparts do... luckily I'm in no hurry so don't really care, but I can see why the people who are in a hurry are annoyed.

I imagine you can get a heads-up when they go live by checking into https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/ now and again - if I know that site there will be many many screenies of dark iron dwarves/mag'har being posted as soon as anyone has one

Didn't they delay them until v8.1??
Doing census mainly on Draenor; Raluf - Nimsay - Lusmo - Quixx - Sosyan - Garthog - Trubin - Zalistra - Zesmi and Djaang

Dark Iron Dwarves incoming right now: https://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/109 ... cant-play/ - there was a bug where the quest didn't pop for the first few to get the rep done but now hotfixed apparently. Mag'har will be another day or two, Horde are way down on rep thanks to a discrepancy in rep-giving quests (plus not having human racial doesn't help).

@FuxieDK: Due to being too sleepy, Balgair beat me in speed. Not seen a dark iron dwarf yet, but know people who have enough reputation from the official fora. Will get some sleep now, too far past midnight here and check again in the morning.

Very happy my prediction was very much spot on. :) *happy*

Looks like there are now 4 Dark Iron Dwarves in the database; there was 1 of each new race beforehand, which I assume were BOYD's test characters, definitely some live ones now :) Not sure if anyone's reached Mag'har yet, there's none in my database anyway, our quests that weren't giving rep got hotfixed and reset, but we still don't have the human racial bonus, so maybe tomorrow.

Both EU and US are showing Dark Iron
US has the first Mag'har... and that shows an issue for the site...

I will look into that sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Nearly 24 hours later and still only a few of the new allied races..
I wonder what that portends?

@Bringoutyourdead: Probably several people got "KOed" by pushing final less than 2000 points to finish. I am right now seeing 12 DID on EU-Silvermoon and about half of them are level 20, so they are probably less than an hour old, three most likely less than 10 minutes old, because the count was 9 just minutes ago. :D I hope I manage to get all of them, so far 4 are on file and census is running (slowly, because there are lots of people about). :D

Saw a Mag'har on Draenor last night. Numbers will really begin to increase in a week or two, I for one am nowhere near exalted (not even revered yet, although I should get to that tonight) with the faction required, so it's only the extreme hardcore players who hit max lvl on day 1, and have done all possible quests and world quests since, who are there... it'll build up over the coming weeks :)

As of today the Mag'har have over run the Dark Iron.

With a dramatic shift in population counts Mag'har Orcs seem to be pushing into Dark Iron Dwarf numbers.
Will the Dark Irons fight back? or have they fallen to the newest members of the Horde?
The Battle for Azeroth heats up.

@All: I am currently seeing:

562 Dark iron dwarf vs 452 Mag'har orc

On the factions I have recently censused, it seems that DIDs are still a tad more common. Some small horde factions sometimes come up with no Mag'har at all, while alliance factions tend to have at least one or two dwarves.

However, I think that in a day or two the Mag'har will permanently bypass the DIDs. Another interesting question for longer term examination will be how high will both climb overall. Mag'har especially face a steep uphill as blood elves remain so popular. And when Kul Tirans and Zandalari arrive the balance will be altered, again. :D
