Noob Questions

I am new to WR, but have been doing active research on a handful of realms for a week now and have a few noob questions:

- How does one add characters on the WR website? I have gone to the character page, but nothing is populating and I see no links to add my toons.

- Is the site still actively maintained? There seems to be a lot of erroneous information about drawings and such that are no longer happening. It appears that the addon is working fine, so clearly that is being maintained.

- Are there plans to incorporate some sort of tracking for TB possession? If so, I may know some folks who would like to assist with that endeavor.

Make sure you first login to this site.
Then do a character history search (or if guilded can search via guild)
select your character
over on the right hand side of the first info box you will see 3 options: Add as friend, sig maker, and claim char.
Click on the last one and claim your character.

Rollie the site owner and developer of the Census+ addon earns his living as an IT worker. With the world economy as it is now.. in the IT world you are either overwhelmed as staffing has been cut back or you were cut. As such, Rollie hasn't had lots of time to update the website or do other activities like running the drawings.

As you noted the most important item the addon still works fine for most people. I'm not sure if the three new Portuguese realms have been initialized in the Warcraftrealms database to allow people to add data for them yet.

I can't speak for Rollie but tracking of TB possession probably won't be in the cards for this site. We are mostly interested in current player and character counts and historical tracking of the same. Since Rollie didn't do anything for tracking Wintergrasp possession I am going to assume the same for Tol Barad.

Is there any way to see the total census data for the past 2-3 years?

not without alot of work

but you can use the Developer/data export tab to grab a consolidated
The current export shows a current count of
Horde: 1420674
Alliance: 1812166

for a total of: 3,232,840

characters on all the current US and EU servers.

Although, this is pretty inaccurate at the moment - take a look at the list of server submissions and you can see the majority are 'red' so not getting enough censuses taken... of course it only needs a few more to get involved to correct this

Just a handful more people getting data at 'peak times' would help a lot I think
