Who window pops up mid-way and at the end of a Census

But it doesn't automatically close again as set to in Census prefs. It used to when I played WoW six months ago with Cosmos, but now standalone with WotLK it's not staying out of my hair as it should.

This is getting supper annoying - it keeps popping up and closing my other windows right when I'm doing something :-( I don't remember it being this annoying, but it was over six months ago that I used this mod (as part of Cosmos at the time).
One thing that DID happen back then was the Who window always closed immediately. That only works very infrequently now :-(

Wiz -

Can you try this version and see if that fixes your problem?

No, sorry. It just completed it's first census and opened the Who window without closing it again. Thank you for trying, though.

Can you tell me what other AddOns you are running? It is highly likely that there is another addon that is conflicting.

WIM

Try disabling this and let me know if it stops...

Well that worked, thank you :-) The trouble is if forced to choose between Census and WIM... I might well choose WIM. I'm already missing whispers and I can't let that go on. I know there are addons that provide audio warnings when someone whispers you, but I tend to miss those as well. Any advice?

Thanks again for the help tracking down this issue :-)

I think the problem is that WIM uses libWho which conflicts with Census. I have been meaning to check into work arounds but I have just been completely swamped =/

Hey, I understand and certainly can't complain given this is the first annoying bug since I started using Census (as part of Cosmos back in the day) :-)

Please fix the WIM interoperability problems. WIM is certainly more important to me than Census - but I'd like to be able to run Census, too...

I had this problem, and with the clue that it was libWho causing problems, I checked which of my addons used that. SpamMeNot was the one using libWho. When I disable SpamMeNot, the who window no longer pops up during or after the CensusPlus scan.

I do want to contribute, but I don't want to keep SpamMeNot disabled!

Ditto on this today.

/rolliesignal

I just added spammenot today because some trolls on my realm are having fun making level 1 toons and harrasing me. The only option I have is SpamMeNot. I dont want to give up my census scans either. I am having a really good month for numbers.

Please tell me a fix for this or another addon that wont cause this problem but will block whispers from people under level 5?

Someone had posted a modified version that included fixes for this I think? Honestly I haven't had time to play, let alone work on things =(

Just wanted to add that I installed SpamMeNot today and immediately began having the /who window popup problems. I've helped bring the Alliance numbers back to realistic numbers for my realm (Tortheldrin) with CensusPlus this month and would hate to have to uninstall it.

I found another addon that solves both problems:
BadBoy
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... evels.aspx

This does the same thing as SpamMeNot and it doesn't cause any problems with CensusPlus.
Also while your there pick up: BadBoy ant-spam
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... d-boy.aspx
both are very lightweight and cause no problems that I have seen.

But BadBoy doesn't automagically send a report to Blizz like SpamMeNot does . . . which is why I switched.
