All topics are being marked as read

Post by NiennaMiriel »

I'm really not sure if this is a browser issue, or a backend issue, but it just started happening recently, and I know that I haven't made any changes.

It seems that whenever I read a single topic, it marks all topics as read, instead of just that one.

I had 3 forums with unread posts. I read the first one, and then used the back button and went into the second one, but I didn't see any unread marks. I used the back button again, and refreshed, and they were all marked as read.

Try clearing your cookies (for wcr.com) since phpBB uses a cookie to keep track of what topics you readed or not. It's possible that it's been damaged or got defunt somehow.

I'll try that when I get home. My brain wasn't quite working this morning, and I thought I remembered it happening at work and at home, but it seems to be working OK here. :)

Never had this issue.... Normally I just go directly to the page and sometimes if I press the down arrow too many times and enter without looking I hit the mark all forums read link: http://warcraftrealms.com/forum/index.php?mark=forums

Annoying since I now have to look at the date on each thread to see if I read it already but I deserve it for not looking at what I'm doing!

I always use the 'View New Topics Since Your Last Visit' link at the top of the main page and then just backup after I read each one =)

I know it's there, but I don't think about it being an easier way to do things. When you have indicators, that's great. If you don't, however, that could be a good workaround. :)

I do my usual routine, top to bottom, left to right. some may call that old fashioned, some call that pure genius.

Hi my name is DM and I am now experiencing the same issue NiennaMiriel had. And its annoying!

I am using Firefox and I have not cleared my cookies for a couple of weeks now since this is a new pc.

But I will try the above suggestions =)
