Are there any database issues still?

I know there should have been quite a few submissions in that file. Did some of them get corrupted with the recent outage?

There were some database issues last night, so I guess Rollie will be looking into it this morning, or has already since the forums are back up. Also previously there were some files that got corrupted from a few days ago, and it was somewhere around the time that you submitted yours so perhaps yours was one of the corrupted ones =(

There were problems last night? I was under the impression that everything was back to normal.

I'll take a look at your data and see if I can see anything amiss.

Your file errored out. It was truncated due to being too big. You need to Prune or Purge your file as it is currently HUGE.

I saw that familiar http://warcraftrealms.com/dberror.php error when I came on sometime late last night... Maybe 2 or 3am EST

Forums were redirecting to that page and many links on the main site were leading to the default Critical Error: Could not connect to DB blank page

I think I figured it out. Looks like my backup process that I put in place over the weekend had a global lock on the database for almost 2 hours. I'll need to do something about that...

It could be coincidence but...

Code: Select all

Feb 25, 07 12:43:09 0 5 Y
Feb 25, 07 12:00:11 35 467 Y
Feb 25, 07 11:38:05 0 5 Y
Feb 25, 07 10:59:24 0 5 Y
but I could also be because I started to use uniuploader about then so I upload a lot more :D

Hrm, I also see that you're able to upload more than once per hour. Gonna have to look into that.

I did try to submit when the site was down and timed out... I submitted again after doing more census and checking that the site was back up and all indications were that it uploaded fine.

Was the corruption caused by expanding the file after the upload and finding that it was too large?

I forget that uniuploader compresses. I can't check the file size atm since it's at home, but it was a bit over 2 meg compressed the last time I sent it. Guess I need to make sure it stays below 2 meg compressed when I send.

Is it worth trying to submit one more time before I purge. I don't really want to lose the data unless I have to.

You might try pruning, since that will only remove players you haven't seen in 30 days, which is better than purging it all. :)

Or maybe purge/purge the servers that you don't actually play on, if you have servers that you just census. That should bring the file size down. As for uploading one more time, that's up to you. It might not give any updates at all, since it's so late, unless you run another census before then, and then who knows.

I thought I had purged in the last 30 days already, but the prune reduced the file size small enough so I could resubmit it and then purge my data to start fresh.

Now I just need to remember not to let the file size get above 2 meg in Uniuploader before I prune/purge.

Thanks for the tips! :)
