Top 20 teams from each BG, and the team makeup

Post by Rollie »

Wa = Warrior
Wl = Warlock

These numbers are a count of the team combos for the top 20 teams from each battlegroup in the 2 man division.

Doesn't really show us anything we didn't already know. Healer + Warr is by far the most popluar combo with Paly/Warr being the most common.

Code: Select all

PaWa	47	21.3%
PrWl	31	14.0%
PrRo	16	7.2%
PaWl	15	6.8%
MaWl	12	5.4%
MaPr	11	5.0%
ShWl	11	5.0%
PrWa	10	4.5%
DrRo	9	4.1%
MaRo	9	4.1%
PaRo	9	4.1%
RoWl	7	3.2%
DrWa	4	1.8%
DrWl	4	1.8%
ShWa	4	1.8%
HuPr	3	1.4%
HuRo	3	1.4%
RoSh	3	1.4%
MaMa	2	0.9%
MaPa	2	0.9%
WlWa	2	0.9%
DrMa	1	0.5%
DrSh	1	0.5%
HuPa	1	0.5%
MaSh	1	0.5%
PrSh	1	0.5%
RoWa	1	0.5%
WlWl	1	0.5%

It would be interesting if Blizz would start factoring in 'combo complexity' into their scoring system. A coefficient based on stat tracking that modifies the point awards based on the combo you fight. That could add an interesting balancing factor that could make it fun to even fight with a weak class combo.

One can dream, right?

That would be too complicated for Blizzard to add :p

And no suprise about the Pally/Warrior combo. Both classes when spec'd and geared properly are pretty damn powerful. No suprise at all.

Shadow Priest and Warlocks are another great combo. Both classes do amazing dps dmg and each can fear their targets easily.

interesting that there are only a few "same-class"-Teams like Wl-Wl. The only combo i noticed in my BGs are Mage-Mage combos, but they aren't so powerful

I haven't messed around with 2v2 as much as I have 3v3... mage/mage/paladin is a pretty ridiculous combo though, heh :P Especially when both mages have arcane power...

My 3v3 team is a test to see how easy it was to rack up arena points even when you lose the majority of your games. {Team Mediocrity} ftw.

It's not really a sample as much as it is the whole. Notice, it's an aggregate of every top 20 team from each battlegroup. Some teams were dropped due to not having enough players who have played in at least 20% of the season's games due to changing members and such.

druid/warlock is underrepresented on this list imo, Top 10 teams on Shadowburn 2 v 2 were druid/lock with some druid/warrior thrown in there.

Please also note that this compilation was originally created a few months ago! It has likely changed since then, maybe I should re-run the numbers =)
