bugs with special symbols

Post by Luxus »

hi i am on nathrezim (german eu-server)
someone send infos with wrong special symbols
example:
my guild roster
fansuj
you see c?nstantine
he is 2x in the list .. c?nstantine and c?nstantine
same problem with "UMLAUTS" ???
i upload my stats yesterday so i am not the problem :D
any ideas? or is this problem allready known?

btw on the horde the gilde is renamed
after a servercrash they named tempest and before the crash was war legendz
so please delete war legendz and tempest cause they are old names of war legends

btw how long it takes that old guildmembers get deleted?

The system removed unseen characters after 30 days. I am working on an improved method for this so I will let you know soon.

Vectra

Post by Vectra »

I'm on EU_Alleria and i have a char named Vectra, lvl 60 priest and V?ctra, lvl 13 Warlock. My char history now states that after going all the way to 60 my char is now a level 7 warlock, which obviously means that she was found by census and is assumed to be the same character. Is it known that census does not differ between aeo and ??? and so on?

I am having a hard time nailing this down. The processing does indeed differentiate between those characters. The problem is that by the time they get to me, they are already the same. The Census+ mod itself also handles the various characters just fine, so the only option I am left with has to do with either the client language the users are using, or some other setting on their own PC. It's a mystery as I obviously don't have access to tons of different PC's with lots of different options.

This is unfortunate and I continue to try to find ways to correct this. I will fix your characters' entry and see if I can't find the offending entry that was submitted and check to make sure it was handled properly.

Looks like I may have found something but need to do some additional research on performance hit before I implement it. I'll keep you posted.

Perhaps that is where some of this was coming from them. I started getting uploads with bad characters again a while back. I just flagged those submissions and didn't process them. This could also cause problems from within the UI and could possibly be the culprit of some very obscure bug reports.
