Ding 70

Post by Eyeball-Dragonmaw »

Well after coming back with a whole new account I finally dinged 70 tonight. I hardly hard-cored it this time, but still played alot, and so some may think I played non stop.

June 21 I created my toon
Sep 7 I reach level 70

So basically I hit 70 in 77 days of real life time, and 17 days of /played which is equal to about 5-6 hours a day of real time.

Congrats!

So, now that you've experienced more/most of Outlands, what did you like best? And did you get your flying mount yet? :)

I think I like Netherstorm the best (the little bubble domes are cool) , and than probably Nagrand for overall looks, and soloable quests. I think I still have a ton of quests to complete if I ever get the urge to farm some gold all over Outlands. I didn't do most group quests except 2 player ones that I could still solo, or have my rl mage friend help out with.

I think Hellfire Peninsula, and Terrokar Forest, and Zangermarsh were the worst.

TF has way too many mobs all over the zone. You are constantly being aggroed by either some roaming patrol, or another mob since they are basically 10k mobs in the zone. Dying there sucks too. You always seemed to have to run halfway around the ruins to get to your corpse.

Hellfire has too many roaming elites, and getting to certain quest areas was a pain, and constantly have quests on the edge of the land. Also it was just so blah. I already have seen enough Durotar in my playing career, and it totally reminded me of it. Oh and the Crust Bursters are just stupid. Wherever you needed to quest was a breeding zone for them.

I just bought my epic mount, and I have almost 1k in gold still left over. I want to mostly pvp so I am still undecided on the flying mount for now because I don't see myself really hanging out in the outlands. I will probably work on some professions instead for now so I don't have to constantly pay AH prices for pots, and probably engineering since it was good for pvp before the xp pack. I haven't really researched anything post 300 skill in it.

Plus I have to get to work on my pvp gear. OMG people are geared out. I don't even want to think about Arena with my gear right now. So probably the next month or so I will be farming honor in AV, AB, WSG etc.
Since when does Alliance win all the AV's? I must have lost like 15 in a row last night, and we were not even close to winning. I did notice alot of people afk in the cave, but I am sure its the same on both sides.

Well thats all for now....

My warlock got to 70 without her epic mount, and my hunter got to 68 without hers. It's just a little ... slower. :)

I'll say.

Moving with an epic mount is 25% faster than moving with a normal mount. xD

Flying mount is good if you're going to travel without wanting to agro stuff along the way. uber easy. slow, but easy.

Well I could of bought my epic at 60 easily, but I didn't really feel the need for it. Hopping on an epic mount to save 5 seconds to the next quest area isnt really necessary. I wanted to save my money for gear, but I never really saw anything on the AH worth buying. It was either worthless greens, or waaaaaaay overpriced blues.

A mount going 20% faster isn't really that much faster when everything is so close together in each questing area. Its like going 65 in a 55 mph zone on the highway to go 1 mile down the road. In reality it only gets you there like 10 secs sooner.

I have to say an epic mount does make a difference in long distances, and in the BG's when you are racing to get places. If you are the only one without an epic your screwed.

One thing tho is that you need to purchase all your riding skills if you intend to get a flying mount or the epic flying mount.

So you must purchase

75, 60% ground mount lvl 40. 90g training 9g mount
150, 100% ground mount lvl 60. 540g training 90g mount
225, Normal flying (60% ground and 60% flying). 900g training 90g mount
300, Epic flying (280%/310% flying and 100% ground). 5000g training 200g mount

You can't skip them so you can't go from 75 to 300.... you need to get 150 and 225 in order to get 300.

Grats Dragonball! I see you are a troll priest too!

I've been farming honor with my troll priest too for gear. We're in the same battlegroup, so we may run into each other :)

If you have an extra 4000 gold lying around, you really need to spend it on leveling tailoring, and then crafting yourself the frozen shadowweave or primal mooncloth set (3 pieces), and then buying the battlecast, whitemend, or spellstrike set (2 pieces). Those 5 items will fit in well with the pvp sets, and are comparable to about tier 4 or 5 armor.

If you don't have the gold yet, you may want to still take tailoring, just to reserve the space for when you do have enough money. Do the 5 group quests that let you get started with ogri'la, and then do ogri'la dalies every day, until you have enough gold.

So are those better than buying the Veteran's pvp set? That looks like the best set now from what I saw in the Hall of Legends.

Grats on 70 :) As for the crafted sets, depends what you're doing, they're low on stamina, so not ideal for pvp, however very very good for damage or healing if you have enough stamina from other items. Wouldn't say it costs 4k gold either, cost me about 200g to reach 350 tailoring on my lock (admittedly having saved all the cloth I got while levelling), and I've made money skilling up the rest, because I'm grinding the cloth not buying it. 9 more points to go to get the final piece of the set :)
