I don't know if this is related to the game crashing in bgs, but sometimes during a scan in bgs I'll get a message saying a name was skipped because it was problematic.
About not having enough RAM, the weird thing is when I first bought the comp last year around March, I had the graphics settings all on maximum and everything ran smoothly (except when riding a gryphon, then I D/C). Over time the comp started to run slower, I would lower the graphics settings which helped performance, but then the framerate would decrease again, I kept gradually decreasing the graphics setting so everything would run smoothly but things just kept getting worse, this happened for about 3 months or so. Then the graphics settings more or less stayed the same for several months, but performance was gradually getting worse, until I started tinkering with some things in the NVIDIA control panel (among other things) to maximize performance and things were running fantastic after that. I had trouble with a trojandownloader a couple months ago and the comp has run slower since then, and today I set all the NVIDIA graphics settings to performance>picture quality, and so far things are running smoothly.
This begs the question, is RAM really the problem? Could it be spyware slowing the comp down all along? Maybe everyone else that crashes in bgs has spyware that ninjas their RAM. Has anyone tried decreasing their graphics settings and seeing if the game doesn't crash then? (Continued on next page)
