S4 Sucks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Eyeball-Dragonmaw »

It is the same stuff. This guild on my server just creates about 20 teams, and they just roll everyone as they got all there s4 gear the first day pretty much. Once they get one team to 1850, they go to the next team so everyone else trying to raise rating gets destroyed by a 1500 team and loses 20 pts, and all 40 members of their guild have 1850 teams. It is just so sad......

That's not a bad idea :-P Boulderfirst is cutthroat but you still have the selling ratings/points which sometimes I've thought about doing. Most of the analytical pvpers that I know are just going to S3 out and work on the S4 weapons. The soft resilience cap is in play!

Yeah, the first few weeks are definitely very sucky, since chances of getting rolled even at 1500 are pretty good. My team and I are in full S3 other than shoulders and we face teams in 3/5 S4 even under 1500... it's pretty bad. The system is pretty jacked up.

I was actually quite surprised earlier, did some games with a friend for the first time since the reset (we did 1 week before it and got owned a lot; neither of us are very good geared or skilled ;)), came out 5-5, 1497 rating. I was expecting us to get steamrollered so that was a nice surprise tbh! It was actually easier around 1500 rating than it's been whenever I've tried arena before now (1 week directly before s4, and a few 2-3 months ago)

Yeah, we've actually had better luck with our 2v2 and 3v3 surprisingly (two not so great brackets for a holy pally) than our 5v5... but we were up around 1700 last season, and this season not so much. At least not yet :P

Ahh, can see 1700 being harder to reach yeah - I've never been over 1500, this 1497 is actually the highest any of my teams have been after 10 games lol (can you tell I'm not very good and make teams with friends rather than ideal class matches ;))

It never fails that you start doing good, and than you get put up against a fully geared team 5 times a row to knock you down.

The story of my life goes we win, and get 10 pts, we lose and its 18 pts taken away.

So true. ;) I actually do arena with friends as well, as I find it more fun than just randomly grouping with people who may be more skilled or better classes. :) We just get frustrated at the whole losing to teams that completely outgear us at ratings which we can usually be competitive.

It's so funny. All my RL friends who play arena told me with the new implementations on arena that S4 was going to be easier to get rating because no pr and team selling. I told them it wasn't going to change, and it hasn't.

The top teams still spin-off to sell teams. I am not quite sure why someone would buy a 2k team because it doesn't affect your pr, but I guess they sell em on peoples ignorance.

I don't know what happened, but tonight I was able to reconstruct my team to a lock, mage, rogue, druid, and disc priest. We went from 1458 to 1581. We probably could of got higher, but a few of us work in 5 hours. This team made a huge difference to us killing people instead of being the ones killed.

OMG......I finally have a good team I think. We all joked around on vent....and actually had FUN tonight.. We went 14-5, but if we wouldn't of been making crazy noises on vent, and took every game seriously it would of been probably 16-3. I mean some teams we destroyed in less than 20 seconds. The best team makeup I have had so far. I got my 5 up to 1641, and like 27 pts away from getting my 3rd piece of S4 :(

2 Frost Mages
1 Enhance Shaman
1 BM Hunter
1 Disc Priest

So basically 4 dps-1 healer team, and I barely even had to heal my guys we destroyed them so fast. I am going to bed tonight pretty happy after last night I wanted to break things with the team performance with a different combo.
