Need help choosing a realm..

Post by Italia5239 »

I figured there would be no where better to place a thread like this than these forums. I am having a real problem lately, and that's with my server. I rolled a rogue on Totheldrin a while ago, which I have gotten up to 47. This server however was a recommended server for a while, that apparently got no attention, and is now a low pop server, that Blizz seems to refuse to merge, after lots of discussion about it.

I want to reroll, because this server sucks, no warriors, no priest, no groups for instances. I am not one to absolutely hate solo questing, but I really do hate not being able to do instances when I want to, and waiting for 1-3 hours for a group. Also, doing /who [whatever] [levels] gets really old, and I'm sure people get tired of being whispered asking if they want to do an instance just because of their level. Most of the time the answer is no anyway.

So where should I reroll? I'm looking for a fun server, where I can have a fun time leveling, but also not have any stress finding instances. I know it's hard now a days since most people are 70s that even know what they are doing, but I'll be damned, since TBC, it seems like no one runs lower level dungeons anymore.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what server I should roll on? I'm really lost on this matter, and don't think I can take much more of my server. The regulars that do instances, seem to be floating about my level, and leveling quite similar to me, and they are all R-TARDS, that I can't get away from.

Please help!

Any High population server will probably have more of what you're looking for. I'd check the list of high population servers and find the ones that are the timezone you'd like to play in (EST, PST, assuming you're playing on US realms) as a start, then pve/pvp/rp (if that matters to you) to narrow it down, then create a character on those realms and do a /who maraudon or whatever to see if there are groups running the instances. While many low level instances don't get run by proper groups anymore, a high population server will give you the best chance to find one. As far as stupid people go, well, there's lots of them on every server. They just make up a smaller percentage on high population servers :P

You can use http://www.warcraftrealms.com/serverhistory.php to check population stats if you'd like.

Thanks for your reply, I figured as much, I just know I've rolled on high pop servers before and they were so crowded with high levels, and no lower ones ._.

Anyway, I was thinking Mal'Ganis/Area 52/Zuljin. Figured I would probably roll Horde again, since the Alliance can't seem to get their shit together...ever.

After looking at those charts though, I think I'll be choosing Zul'Jin, since it's a full server, with almost equal charts for Alliance/Horde players. I appreciate your help.

No problem - I've played on Mal'Ganis since two months after release and I find it hard to play on other servers... I've gotten spoiled by having so many people around :P

Now is actually a pretty good time to reroll, since the expansion is coming out in like 6 months a lot of people are leveling alts instead of raiding / playing their 70's. Good luck!
