Why isn't the CensusPlus addon up to date?

Hi there,

I thought I'd start contributing to the database again, couldn't remember my old account so I made a new one.

I have one question though. Why isn't the Censusplus addon kept up to date? Sure, it may be stable and there may not be any current bugs, but surely it would be a good idea to update the version number so that WoW doesn't flag and disable it for being out of date? This will surely only lead to confusion amongst newer contributors and will only decrease participation.

Nothing with the "/who" function ever changes. the only changes are when the display window changes. You can always update the version number.

Most players dont mind just loading out of date addons

I agree; it boggles my mind that the mod hasn't been updated.

If you look at the comments on Curse it appears that the mod is 'dead'. Simply updating the mod with the correct version would significantly increase the amount of contributors.

While that's true; a quick glance through the forums will reveal there are issues and bugs with the addon itself.

New baby + work + tankhard + guild master + raiding + side projects + all the other sites he maintains = little time to update the TOC.

the bugs with the addon is just it pops up when the social pane is up (a very rare occurance) and it's been a known issue even before wotlk. that and wholib compatibility (who would have guessed that 2 addons /whoing everything would cause interference with one another?)

all good reasons im sure, but just a toc update could be dont in less time it takes me to type this.
go to your wow install folder and to Interface>addons>Censusplus. open the CensusPLus.toc with notepad or any other text edidtor.
change ## Interface: 30000 into ## Interface: 30200 and save.

No im not talking about the whole uploading to all the addon sites. but damm that took me months to do..

I agree it needs to be done. Updating the TOC isn't a huge undertaking and one I have been derelict to get done.
