Hunter talent question

Post by Forestlordx »

I read over on wowinsider a few days ago about a lvl 70 hunter who was specc'd survival. This is a rare spec and I figured it could be fun to have something similar as well. I realize that a hunter is best at the ranged talent spec, but its always fun to try something completely different. Any constructive opinions on this?

I've got a couple suggestions:

1) Scattershot or counterattack is pretty much a must, as those are your two main options for escape mechanisms (besides intimidation, but this isn't a BM spec.) However, in order to get scattershot you must drop readiness, so that's up to you.

2) Hawkeye is a really nice talent - 41 yards is a pretty key hunter talent for both pvp and pve.

I'll link two survival specs here, one more pve oriented and the other more pvp.

--------------------------------
Pve - http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0310511351

This spec is about a survival spec that helps to max party/raid damage. Both improved hunter's mark and expose weakness help to raise overall raid damage.

--------------------------------

Pvp - http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0313501051

This spec aims to help you with utility in pvp. You could if desired drop readiness for scattershot to give you another escape tactic.

---------------------------------
DISCLAIMER:
I've played a hunter since release but I've always been full marks (even back in the day when many hunters were 21marks/30survival). I haven't personally tried either of these specs, and so it's all in hypothetical theorycraft. You'd have to try them out and change them up yourself to find what works for you ;) I just figured I'd give you something to chew on :)

I have not played WOW for some time. I had a hunter and wanted to know if they have improved since its latest expansion cataclysm? Is the focus bar better than the energy bar?

Brilliant 5 year necro, without even being on topic..
Doing census mainly on Draenor; Raluf - Nimsay - Lusmo - Quixx - Sosyan - Garthog - Trubin - Zalistra - Zesmi and Djaang
