Blizzard announces 2nd connected realm pairing.
Did these two pairing go through without major problems?
Anub'arak and Chromaggus/Garithos (planned 10/28/2013)
Drak'tharon and Firetree/Rivendare (planned 10/28/2013)
If yes, then it's just a very strange coincidence. I only brought it up because I think Bringoutyourdead mentioned something about problems with Area 52, which has the distinction of containing numbers in its name. Sometimes very, very minor things cause massive problems. :/

Blizzard is reaping their deserved reward... Making naming decisions that can be handled as discrete units but can't be easily used to make selector decisions. The worst naming decision was how they handled the Portuguese realm. the '()' characters have special meaning in the Lua language and it takes a lot of extra effort to work around this stupidity.
Having spaces in Realm names and in Guild names also cause major headaches... when you run across text that needs to be parsed to determine the meaning, it becomes real hard when you can't tell ['The' 'Realm'] from ['The'] and ['Realm'] {is it 2 words or a single using composed of 2 words?}
That is why I had to build two new files for CensusPlus realmlist-EU and -US. If you look at them you find part of what I had to do to find exact realm names. The penalty was that each time we need to verify a realm name, we have to look through the whole table of names... over and over again.

Have you checked in-game?1974ER wrote:Update of update:
Runetotem and Killrogg connection has vanished from breaking news and appears to have been cancelled.
If the connection is complete, there is no reason to have it in the box anymore...
Doing census mainly on Draenor; Raluf - Nimsay - Lusmo - Quixx - Sosyan - Garthog - Trubin - Zalistra - Zesmi and Djaang
Hmm, Chromaggus and Shattered Halls appear to not be connected. Censused them both back-to-back alliance side and did manual /who to confirm; there's no sign of each other's players, even though the maintenance time should be finished.
Same deal for Killrogg and Runetotem, so a bit strange that only one of them fell off the announcement.

Blues updated sticky, newest lists:
Next Realm Connections:
Uldum and Zul’jin
Boulderfist and Shattered Halls
Rajaxx and Anetheron
Agamaggan and Emeriss/Hakkar/Crushridge
Terrordar and Dethecus/Mug’thol/Theradras
Alexstrasza and Nethersturm
Additional time is going to be required to complete the connections below:
Runetotem and Killrogg
Chromaggus and Shattered Halls
Shattrath and Garrosh
Haomarush and Dragonmaw
Dalvengyr and Nazjatar
Bladefist and Zenedar
I have to assume something went rather drastically wrong yesterday and they cancelled those two connections temporarily to prevent further errors. Additional delay is a better option than massive functional failures, after all.

Something DID go wrong yesterday.
There was massive login problems, from maintainance ended until ~18:45..
Login server was on strike, people was kicked off servers and servers went up and down, like mad....

Just shows the differences in the two regions...
Here in the US, Blizzard uses GM Hamsters to power their servers..
Whereas since the EU is won't accept the value of Genetic Modified Organisms..
Blizzard had to resort to the standard Rattus Norvegicus (aka Norway Rat aka Brown Rat) who are smarter or at least more independent..
with the results that they tend to go on strike more often.

Good thing we already anticipated this, and you prepared the addon for it alreadybringoutyourdead wrote:First 6 realm connected realm announced with TBD date... I expect sometime mid December.
That means we have to keep at least two lines for realm names.. sigh
