The in game toys that temporarily change your race and/or class cause false tracking.
I have been looking through the million plus lines of the latest processing logs from the site.
There have been a number of false but by smart planning non-fatal errors when processing the uploads.
While the error is non-fatal in other words does not stop processing it does have a minor impact on processing speed.
I am playing with the idea of removing the false combinations in the addon instead of allowing them to pass on to the web site with the uploads.
The disadvantage of this would be to potentially hide real errors that might happen when Blizzard makes changes and the addon is not updated.
I will have to think further on this topic.
Blizzards toys can be annoying.

So, race changing toys cause (more or less) the same issue, that Mercenary mode did?
Or am I reading this wrong?
If it causing problems for the user or for others as well?
E.g. you play Belf Paladin, but toy says you're Nelf... Easy to fix, as you're both wrong faction and wrong race/class combo.
Or is it displaying an Orc Shaman as Troll Shaman (both possible and same faction)?

Doing census mainly on Draenor; Raluf - Nimsay - Lusmo - Quixx - Sosyan - Garthog - Trubin - Zalistra - Zesmi and Djaang

There are many toys and triggers that will change your characters looks... and now with the mercenary mode also the characters tool-tip.
The main toy offender that I am aware of is
http://www.wowhead.com/item=53057/faded-wizard-hat
with this on you keep your class but your Race will randomly change to one of the races that you interacted with while doing the Horde only quest chain in Azshara.
You remain a Horde character but your race can be any other Horde race (either sex) and even a Night Elf female.
When transformed there is no way for anyone else to know what your real Race was.
For census taking this can lead to false tracking of random new characters in valid Faction/Race/class configurations.. or impossible Horde/NEF spotting.

Toys are working as designed.
Having new people starting the game not being easily able to form parties with others in the starting zone.. since \who 1-19 returns no results... not a concern (to Blizzard)
the fact that the 2GB minimum memory requirement is in reality no longer true.
( on trial account while moving through a number of zones as I trained, hit the bank, turned in quests my task manager noted that WoW had been allocated over 1.25GB of ram)
Considering Windows 10 runs about 1.5GB with basic malware defense on and most everything else disabled.
The response was, "make sure you have any addon disabled."
Snort.. Battlenet memory footprint was 8 times more then the tiny 6MB used by my addons.
And too many other "Hey Blizzard, are you sure about this?" notes that are responded to by rote forms.
Contacting Blizzard is pretty much a waste of time.
