I use imgur.com for uploading images, they seem to stay up longterm and so far don't have problems with linking on forums - we'll see how long that lasts

Thanks for all your work on this update, once again! Without your work we'd have no addon or functioning website, it's very much appreciated

It is done.

Balgair has just been sent the official release code.

Later today I will send the same code to the distribution sites.

Remember this code will not work with client 7.3.5 you need to wait until you have client 8.0.1 running.

Also remember do not attempt to upload data from this 8.0.0 addon until you see my announcement in the News and Announcement forums... as it may take me a few days to get the new races enabled correctly.
(looking back at my last emergency patching on the site, I see that the race ordering on the census page is not what I thought I had coded.. so I do not understand that part of the code as well as I thought I might have.)

As regards to data from client for 7.3.5, the site will be disabled for the older data at approximately 12 Noon 18 july 2018 PDT (7:00PM UTC)

PSA:

The servers will be taken offline in Europe at 02:00 CET (which is in 16 and a half hours) for upgrade.
After that time, it should be safe to make any or all changes nessesary to this site.

US realms went live at 11:05am
the maintenance window was much shorter then they needed.

Due to timing and real life constraints..
this site will stop accepting data (V7) about 11am (PDT) tomorrow.
The site will accept Data (V8) shortly thereafter.

The EU players should have a better time..
login failures, crashes, misplaced characters, disconnects... even possibly breaking twitter for a little.

Our servers didn't even come down in the right timezone, so... not the best sign lol. Announcement said 2:00 CEST, it actually happened at 2:00 BST or CET, 1 hour late... gives me confidence!

The only very minor error I have found, so far, is Kul Tiran icon

Looks like a troll, with some text over.. Not worth to release a new build for, but should be addressed when you have time..
EDIT: Now that I zoom on it, it looks like a sailor of some sorts.. Maybe the infamous "[PH]Captain PlaceHolder" even...

After spending all day chasing addons, I'm even more appreciative of BOYD's work on this, 50% of my addons aren't updated yet

Several of those I have a bad feeling might be dead, no updates since 7.0, hopefully someone will take those over, but the lesser used ones are probably gone for good. I haven't tried the old ones yet to be fair, the simpler ones might work, but I'm getting enough errors from addons that are supposed to be updated to not want to add non-updated things into the mix yet!

I still have a few addons, that haven't been updated since WOTLK, and they still work (with a few errors in bugsack)..

Just took a look at the upload logs and things look ok.. except.

I have noticed a small number of people who are getting E status.. and each one that I looked at (not all of them) had data files showing CensusPlus active in a census run when the character went offline.
I would have to look more closely at what is causing the exact failure mode, but I do not really have the time to do that now.

I expect that is due to the stability (lack thereof) of the servers at this time.

When things settle down and later uploads are attempted I am sure those uploads will process without issue.

Ohh yes, I have an E - odd, as I have not crashed out at any point, only logged out normally, European servers have been very stable. So unless a reload when fixing addons has done anything, I've had no unusual situations, only regular logouts.

3 of my most used addons were updated today, still missing about 20 more, but it's getting there, feels better now anyway as it's mainly minor ones that are missing

I have not experienced any instability on EU servers..

I have a single E (last I checked), and have been switching toons several times while running, and a few DCs due to 30 minutes AFK (perfectly normal).

Never had any crashes or unexpected DCs..

Don't stress about it - none of it's in until BFA launches on August 14th anyway

Lvl 120 comes on launch, Dark iron Dwarves/Mag'har I believe need completion of the war campaign, don't know if that's gated at all, but would imagine it'll take at least a few days; if gated, more like a few weeks.

Concentrate on getting well first, accepting uploads second and display of data third

I don't know if it's going to cause a problem .. but currently there appears to be a bug with characters transferring realms. We've had a couple of people transfer over from another realm, and join us not long after the transfer went through. But then suddenly, although they were still in the guild, and could still take part in guild chat, they were no longer showing on the guild roster.

And in guild chat their character names show as their previous character name-realm .. which is very weird.

Blizzard are aware ...

As far as CensusPlus is concerned... the transfer just did not happen.. when it does.. then the characters will appear as new characters in the database on the new realm.

We have no way to handle realm to realm transfer tracking .. as that info is not published in game by Blizzard.
