I have two char on a realm, one in alliance and the other in Horde. If I run the census on the alliance only for a day, and then upload it after I log out, will it still appear in the .lua that I also did the horde? I was just curious about this, I noticed that on yesterday the last update on my server was the 21st, so I did a census on my horde char. Now it appears that the updates are always the same with both alliance and horde char on my realm. Was hoping it wasn't something I did.
Thanks.
Horde/Alliance Same Realm?
The thing that I was worried about, is the data going to be inaccurate for the horde portion of the realm? I'm guessing that the data is arranged by the realm it is in. Since I ran a census on the alliance side and that is the side I play most often, will I keep sending data about the horde side even though I haven't run an actual census on that side in several days? I'm not sure how the data is stored on the lua file, but it keeps the data that I ran from prior census, and I was just worried that everytime I send data pertaining to my realm, it will keep sending old data about the side I don't play as often.
Hope that kind of clears it up, was up late last night...

Yes, you are correct. Let's say you log in on a Horde character today and take a census. Then you only play Alliance for the next month. Each time you submit data, it will also submit that Horde data along with any Alliance data you have.
Basically the biggest thing this could cause is that those characters will be 'touched' as though they were actually seen in a Census. If however, you used the /censusdate command to set the date, then the data will be dated and will only try to update to that date instead of to the current date.
Another thing to put away your fears is if the characters have been updated in the database (say they have a higher level in the database) then the data you submit on that character will simply be ignored.
Make sense?

phpbb:phpinfo()
I have been doing the censusdate daily when I open up a new census run on the alliance char. However, the horde is still under an older date so hopefully that will help distinquish too. I REALLY like this feature, and thank you for getting it set up. It's very useful and I just didn't want to mess up the hard work that you and everyone else has put into this mod.
Thanks again for your comments, and help with my question.
