Spielberg to direct World of Warcraft movie?

I got a couple of emails over the weekend about Spielberg directing the upcoming World of Warcraft movie. I'm kinda surprised at this given how well video game movies have panned out so far. Perhaps Spielberg is a WoW fan?

It says that the source is Variety, but I can't find anything there. It might be interesting. I've never actually watched a video game adaptation, so all I have going into this would be Spielberg's reputation.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well, Spielberg has a hand in a lot of stuff and there is always rumors about what he's going to direct, I'll believe it when I see it

I've never heard of a Steven Spielberg fantasy movie... That last movie he made (as far as I know) was Munich, and thats just a tad bit different than WoW. Just a tad.
