An article from 2001 that made me laugh.

In a way. Since you use programming or scripting languages to automate things. Basicly every programmer can hack, hacking is nothing more then testing the security of a program and improve itSkyfire wrote:Programming with Perl is a hacking manual?![]()

Anyway time to grab and shotgun and shoot the article:
1) O wait maybe it's because AOL sucks >_<.
2) That is called spyware/mallware and is sometimes installed by using exploids in browers or trick the user into downloading it. Although the programs provide the things they say and mostlikely contain crappy coding to do naugthy stuff these things aren't used for hacking.
3) Maybe the kid just wants to play games -.-
4) Natural interest in security. Knowing what your upagainst is the best way to defend you self so you go read their books.
5) DOS is a Denail Of Service attack and has nothing to do with gaining commandline access.
6) It's a fricking First Person Shooter not some ancient wow xD.
7) Wait isn't that called puberty?

9) So he is in puberty and changes his looks just to be radical....
10) So do people with other problems no reason to be a hacker.
Anyway I can recall my mom saying she could imagen code in the dark all night long. She never knew how right she was....

That is such an awesome article. It shows just how clueless people can be.
And I second all of your rebuttals Wyri, those are the exact thoughts I had.
Is this article a joke, or is it for real?

In looking at the comments from a month after it was written, it seems as though it was a joke. It's hard to tell though, since the site is an archive, and I can't find anything that tells me if the site is a joke or if it's real.
I mean, look at the sites FAQ http://www.adequacy.org/special/faq.html
